Thanks for the support and the love people. Its been really great. Mom might get to come home tomorrow. She seems to be doing better, and though her health is poor, I hope this will scare her enough to decide whether she wants to live.

I'm guessing a stay at the ICU would do a pretty good job of scaring someone. My dad had a massive heart attack five years ago, they had to shock him back to life etc, and it scared him enough to quit smoking cold turkey. It made him realize that the next ciggie would be his last one - either his heart would collapse again or my mother and I would beat him to death if we caught him.
Hopefully your Mom's health and attitude are taking a turn for the better.
