well, I'm back from my two-days-ish adventure in the city :) had a great time visiting a good friend, eating cheesecake and truffles, and watching movies :)
 
Hi guys...so I assume you like the thread and I am glad for that. I hope you continue to post here and keep this thread alive for those who can use it to feel not so alone, or so strange in a place where a lot of the time, its like being back in high school. You have the cool, popular kids and then there's us.


The Rejects.

Alas, for me, this experiment has not worked out so well. It has managed to get my hopes up and perhaps even alter my behavior. I think I've made myself a nuisance because of that and I never wanted to be. So...I go back into exile.

Some of you might notice I joined the site in Jan of 06 but had les than a thousand posts. That is because periodically I start posting and try to make friends and...well it never works out. So I go back to just reading stories and lurking. Mostly just reading stories and never coming in to the boards.

So yeah to make a long story short, I take my leave. Hopefully gracefully. Remember me and try to keep this place alive for those others like yourselves. Take care and be well.

What we are and what we have been shouldn't be a limitation. We're unique people, we're deep and introspective. We have flashes of creativity that border insanity. There's always a fish that doesn't swim with the school and I'm that fish and so are you. Some fear us because we are the way we are, others endear us. It's a knee-jerk reaction, we fear what we don't understand. If people want to understand then they have to look closer and not just listen, but understand what they're listening to. It's not shameful to be different, it's honorable, it's noble.

I like who I am, I couldn't imagine being different. I'd like to tell you a little story about a man you may know. The legendary Bruce Dickinson was and is one of us.
When he was coming up, he called himself one of those people who was "terminally un-cool." When I read this it blew my mind. Iron Maiden's lead singer is one of us! But I never knew that until recently. He's larger than life to me and others, but to himself, he's terminally un-cool. Sound familiar?

No matter what. We go on as we always have. We try to touch people in a positive way and on a personal level. Make them say "Hey, he's not so bad after all." We've never needed the attentions of many and never will. Wouldn't know what to do with the attentions of many anyway. This is me, this is what you get. People will either accept me as I am or they won't, it's not that big of a deal. I accept you, bro. I like who you are. The opener of this thread inspired me, you inspired me. We need more like you and we need you to stay. You are our leader. Lead us.
