If I may ask, what exactly would a platonic sub be, or do? I'm trying to envision the sorts of activities, or the dynamic that would encompass a D/s relationship that wouldn't have at least some sexual component? Perhaps my mind is not open enough...

In my mind, platonic encompasses any activity that doesn't involve direct sexual contact. That still leaves a wide range of options, including bondage, discipline, rope play, impact play, wax play, electricity play, other sensual play, mind play and a nurturing role as per my original post. In practice, it's anything that's acceptable to my wife and me (as well as the sub!).

Does that make more sense?
