Okay, this is completely non-story related. Every month I get together with a group of friends for games night. Three years ago, we branched off and once a year we do a girl's night games night.

Last year, I made a CD for the occasion and this year I'd like to make another. Thing is, I'm at a loss for some really good songs for a second girl's night CD. I will take any and all suggestions with the exceptions below.

The songs below should give you some idea of the types of songs I'd like on this CD.

Lady's Night - Kool & The Gang
Man, I feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain
Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves - Annie Lennox & Aretha Franklin
Shake Your Thang - Salt 'n' Pepa
No Scrubs - TLC
It's Raining Men - The Weather Girls
Break Away - Kelly Clarkson
Independence Day - Martina McBride
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
She Works Hard For The Money - Donna Summer
National Workin' Woman's Holiday - Sammy Kershaw
This One's For The Girls - Martina McBride
I'm A Bitch - Meredith Brooks
Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
We Are Family - Sister Sledge
Girls With Guitars - Wynonna Judd
Better Be Good To Me - Tina Turner
Ten Thousand Angels - Mindy McCready
Guys Do It - Mindy McCready
Holdin' Out For A Hero - Bonnie Tyler
Girl's Night Out - Toronto

Okay, that's the song list from last year's CD. My friends were impressed with the list and a couple of them said it'd be hard to top. I'd like to have the same reaction to this year's CD. If I get enough suggestions, I'll keep them for next year's CD! :D

How about "I Am Woman" but I can't remember the name of the artist, but she is quite well known. Or maybe "Girls' Night out" by The Judds?

Independent Women, Pt I, by Destiny's Child
Survivor, by Destiny's Child
Freakum Dress, by Beyonce

...are all good women only type songs.

"I want you to want me" cover by Letter to Chloe. Yeah its a Cheap Trick cover, but its 100% grrrrl rock.

Crazy on You--Heart
Heart of Glass--Blondie
Denise--Blondie
Our Lips Are Sealed--The Go-Go's
Magic Man--Heart

I think the first song was by Helen Reddy, don't ask me how I remember this from my childhood, but I do.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the suggestions, with those and the suggestions I got from other online friends, I have quite the list.

Once I create the CD, I'll let you all know the choices that made the cut for the second CD. :)

michchick , though I don't have any additions for your song list, I would suggest that you put Jamesbjohnson on iggy. He very rarely has any information conducive to the current thread he posts on.

And why the hell does it matter to you? It's not like I made the friggin' CD for you! Bug off, dude.

He's just that way. Stupid and useless.

As a general rule, I don't put people on ignore. I will however, not grace him with another response and let him post his drivel to his heart's content if it makes him feel better about himself.

Thanks for the link! I Googled "Girl's Night Out" music and didn't have much luck. I found a few songs that I'd like to put on the disc, but nothing that jumped out at me. I will check that out and add stuff to my list.

Unfortunately, only about 20 or so songs will fit on a CD so I have to narrow my choices down, but I will keep the others in mind for the next CD. :)

Well, JBJ's posting style is just flinging poo.

Don't get any on you.

;)

(Glad the link was of some help!)

When I read your list, I thought about another song that would fit in. I don't remember the name of the artist or the song, but it's about a woman whose SO deserted her, and she cried over it, but became stronger without him. Part of it goes like this:

I would have changed that stupid lock; I would have made you leave your key,
If I'd have thought for just one second you'd be back to bother me.

Alright now go!
Walk out that door.
Just turn around now,
You're not welcome anymore.

That would be I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor and that's on the list! :) Thanks!
