I've got a Christmas party coming up (hubby's work), and I found a gorgeous dress today. The problem is, I need a strapless bra and have no idea where to find one in my size. Even Lane Bryant (BBW store) doesn't carry them big enough.

I tried one on in the store, but it was too small around... the weird thing is that the cups were too big (even though they were the cup size I normally fill just fine.)

So if anyone can tell me where I can find a strapless bra in the 46-48 D, DD range, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Is there a decent lingerie store in your area?

You need an expert, I would think, in a bras and undies type of place. You should put your needs (and your bust) in the hands of a qualified attendant.

The party sounds delightful! Please post a pic of your dress?

I live in a hick town. We don't have a lingerie store. My only hope is to find somewhere I can order online and hope it fits or I have time to exchange it if it doesn't. I have a month before the party. I'll try to figure out a way to post a picture. I think my camera has a timer but I don't know how to set it, lol.

Crim, I have some of those stick-on thingies that work for strapless/backless dresses. Not sure if they'd work for those blessed as you are, but it's a thought.

I had thought about those too but wasn't sure how they'd work for someone of my size. I don't know where to find them either. The dress isn't strapless, but it's cut in a way that regular bra straps will show in the front and back.

I think I may have gotten mine at Frederick's.

Fredericks of Hollywood has bustiers for the larger sizes. No straps.

Nobody's asking how I know this, right?

Would a convertible bra work, mebbe? Or one with clear straps?

And how do you know this?

Crim,

several online stores cater to bigger and smaller girls. Those people who don't generally find what they need at Vics. The avenue and fashion bug may have them in the size you want.

One Idea is to just go online and do a search from bridal lingerie. Unlike the big outfits, bridal shoppes know brides come in all sizes and with the number of off the shoulder wedding gowns many have links to lingrie specialty stores.

Best of luck

I didn't see any of those in my size. I don't think I'd be comfortable in something that restricting but because of your suggestion, I saw they have stick on cups that work for cup sizes up to D. If I can't find anything else, those might work.

It's where all the cross dressers shop and I used to live with one.

Have I told you I love you lately? :D And I live to one day be your roommate? I'm clean and neat and I promise not to bug you for sex … I just want to watch the parade. ;)

Thanks Colly. Neither of those places have them big enough either. So far, everywhere I've looked have stopped at 44. I need at least a 46. I'll try the bridal search.

Thanks for the link, but I didn't see any strapless that went big enough.

Colly, the bridal search worked. I found a site called "Bare Necessities" that sell strapless bras in the larger sizes. Thanks, doll.

Glad it worked :)

Liz, I tried the 44 on at the store and it was too small.
