I am applying for a postal position at NCED in Norman, OK. The window is small. My sticking point is SCORM. I just have knowledge of.

Based on my searches SCORM is a standard for web-based training. To standardize it so that a training module can be used in another project.

If anyone can assist I'd appreciate it.

Just a few miles away hundreds are homeless. I pray for them.

Oklahoma proud. Oklahoma strong.

Yes I can help a bit. It originated from the U.S. military attempts at computerised training. The idea is that it has a standardised reporting mechanism so that results from one Scorm compliant can be fed into another, or into a Virtual Learning Environment like Blackboard or Web CT.

Certainly up to SCORM 2 that promise was never really fulfilled. Many producers of learning products claimed to be SCORM compliant but in truth their product only really communicated with the environment it was designed for. An example of this was a program called Question Mark which claimed to be SCORM compliant but was only really compatible with Blackboard. For most other VLEs it was no more use than Hot Potatoes which was free.

Hot Potaoes (produced by the university of Victoria in Canada) now claims to be SCORM compliant and is an excellent place to start if you are new to computer based learning and testing. They also produce a game generator called Quandary which can be developed for learning.

I hope this is of some help

Good luck with the job.
