Originaly I posted in the How to area. That was not much help.

I need help with young characters. I am well aware of the 18 rule and how to get around it. I am not looking for that.

My need of knowledge is: I have a story in progress about a teacher who flirts/touch/tease openly with other faculty. How much can an obvious 14-17 year old be allowed to do. They will not be having sex!

What is the limit on teasing, exposure, masterbation?

My topic at current happends to be a young male who becomes excited, But in the future it could be a female as well?

I thought about deleting the whole scene but it is a lead to future occurances.

Any thought would help greatly as this is a real block!

I do not normaly support the young sex, incest, and non concent topics with my stories if I can help it. I do not dismiss them as categories though.

I am not digging for an idea I have that. I am looking for help on the yes can post or no don't bother because they will reject it.

The rule states:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. No sexual activity involving bestiality (you can write stories about supernatural beasts like ghosts, unicorns, werewolves, etc.) or underage persons will be considered. For the purposes of this site, the minimum legal age is 18.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No sexual activity involving, or underage persons will be considered.

Is any one aware of what the fine line is? What is the gray area?
Are we talking:
No penatration?
No masterbation?
No exposure of sex organs?
No sex driven tight clothing out fit?
No Johova witness, dressed for worship moving the hips?

Phildo,

to my understanding, none is acceptable. Watching, touching, feeling, masturbation et al ar sexual situations and you cannot cast anyone under 18 in a sexual situation, unless I misunderstand the rules?

That is also my impression, since I've read posts from several writers who had stories rejected for apparently *very* slight mention of underage sexuality, far less explicit than things I commonly run across in mainstream fiction. I am not contesting this policy--it is the prerogative of the site owners to draw their lines where they want them--but be aware that the age rules usually have been strictly exercised. It is probably wise to make every character with a sexual thought or reaction at least a high school senior if you want to submit the story to Lit.

I respect your opinions and will continue my story with no youth involved/mentioned. Just want to play by the rules. Thanks to both your posts much needed support.

....and the eigth grade student who stayed back five years squashed into his chair-desk like a nimble rhino......

(Phildo erasers) XXXXXXXXXX Darn story! any one know how to remove eraser dust off a liquid touch screen?

I would rather cut back now then submit and cut back later. Just adds a new twist!

Phildo bows and takes your advice.

Phildo does the right thing

Phildo, you've made the right choice, in my view. Madame Manga's comment is the bottom line. Because of the jitters this nation has about so many things -- youthful sex being a top generator of problems -- it seems fine to have this rule. It's a simple one that may keep the wolves at bay.

The rule makes perfect sense -- because of circumstances that have nothing to do with the desireability of a serious exploration of the subject matter. We can write of that elsewhere if desired. Just ask Humbert Humbert.
