I need help keeping my pubic area hairless...

I tried shaving with my electric razor, but it always gets itchy the next day. I also couldn't really shave the hard to reach places with the razor.

Is there a better way? PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance!

NOTE: Hygene and comfort are the main reasons I wanna keep it hairless. Sexual pleasure is just a bonus.

There has been a lot of discussion about this in the past, I'd suggest searching for shaving, hair removal, magic shave.

You can shave but if you do it is generally suggested you use a nice sharp blade each time, soak in the tub or shower for a while to let hair soften up and use a sensitive skin shaving cream.

After and preferably before the shaving apply some good lotion a few times per day to keep the skin hydrated and irritation free.

You may also consider talcum powder, some people find it helps.

On the non shaving front Magic Shave (shortened to Magic a lot) seems to be a big favorite here. I couldn't find it in Idaho but finally found it at Walgreens.

If you are going to use any hair removal product make sure you do a demo area to test your skin sensitivity and don't leave it on longer than the recommended time.

If hygiene is your primary purpose you may want to reconsider shaving and just trim instead. When you shave you introduce tiny cuts onto your skin and can get ingrown hairs.

I personally shave but will try magic in a couple of days.

That was my problem with shaving.

I think I will try out that magic shave formula. It's not too expensive is it?

It was $3 for a tube of pre-mixed lotion and about $2.50 for the powder.

I'd really recommend taking a look at the magic shave threads on here before you use it, they are very informative.

Try a beard trimmer instead of a razor. It doesn't produce the "smooth as a baby's bottom" effect, but it also doesn't cut the hair so short it itches or will cause your partner to get "stubble-burn."

We have used nair bikini area on and off. Some times it does not work. If you leave it on too long you get a chem burn. Definatly dont get in a hury and rub with the washcloth.

If you want to always be hair free and shaving is a pain for you.
Maybe you should consider other alternatives. I have had my entire bikini area front and back except for a thin strip right in front done with the laser. This is permanent and it is not the most pleasant experience but it is over pretty quickly and you only have to go 5 times like once every 3 to 5 months til you are done and then you never ever have to mess with it again. I Love it.

I am so there..tell me more..I hate shaving and I hate ingrown hairs..Who do you call for permanent hair removal.??.What kind of doc is that??Please let me know!1Thanks bunches!!

I go to SONA laser center but I am pretty sure that there are other ones. I am pretty sure that they have a website you can go to to get more information. It is pretty expensive. And it does hurt I repeat it does hurt. I did not think it was bad but everyone is different and has a different pain tolerance. It was pretty fast though it only hurt while that spot was getting zapped which is like a fraction of a second so. I Love the results though. I also had my upper legs to the knee done and will probably get my lower legs done also. If you decide to try it out let me know and I will give you my name...I think you get like either15 or 20% off if you were reffered by someone not much but every little bit helps.:)

Ok, I've tried shaving again. This time I used lotion. And it helps. It doesn't feel as itchy anymore. The problem is the fact that the hair grows back fast. I'll have to shave every other day.

And us guys have to worry about shaving near our cock and scrotum... :p

The only thing I shave is my testicles. I just use a regular razor and water, I suppose everyone is different because I've never had any problems... I trim the rest of the hair... just like my testicles to be hair free!

Electric

Try using the Seiko Clean Cut battery powered razor. You must trim down the hair first and then use it. It does not cut or snag the skin and can be used on the balls. It works very well when you use the Summer's Eve powder they recommend. I really like mine !!!!

Mmmm..chicks who shave! why cant all girls SHAVE!

I've tried both the power magic and the premixed stuff, didn't wind up with a burn or rash but it isn't didn't do that good of a job and I left it on plenty long.

Back to shaving, its closer and faster, oh well :).

I'm not sure I'd want to do permanent hair removal yet, never know when things will swing drastically and you might want it back.

why not try waxing?

The itching will go away after a few times. I always used baby powder to stop itching...worked for me!

I was starting to come to the conclusion that it wasnt that great. What are you using to take it off? Following a post from Etoile in one of the many threads, I had a play this evening.

Previously I've just used either a "scraper" nicked from a tube of immac or a credit card. Tonight I went over once with a credit card to get rid of most of the hair and then went back over the area with a roughish sponge to finish off the job. The difference is startling.

Tried Nair once... ONCE I say... Never again... never ever again, was bad when I tried using it on my head, was worse when I used it on my southern parts.

Shaving

I think the trick to the shaving is the soaking first. If you soak in the tub or shave after a warm swim you would be amazed at the difference.
Ive done the quick, Im going to get it tonight shave and the long seductive soak/shave. The soak also gets you in the mood! Make sure for a smooth shave you shave against the way the hair grows, the hair will be much softer when you soak and come off cleaner. However this also causes in grown hairs, what ever you do dont re-shave an area. If you do Im sure you will have a bad result. Not only will you have more ingown but raser burn, that helps with the itching, its dry skin.
Use a creme meant for scrapes and cuts on the outside to help with the healing process, it also keeps the moisture in to help with the itching.
MOST OF ALL, ALWAYS use a brand new blade every time!!! After you use it on your mons you can use it on your legs, but DO NOT use a dull blade on your mons!!!
Good luck,
Cealy

I don't get it. If you're saying that the reason for shaving is hygiene and comfort, but that shaving gives you ingrown hairs (highly unhygenic) and makes you itchy (highly uncomfortable), does it not logically follow that shaving is, for you, providing you with neither hygiene nor comfort?

Just trim and slap some Gold Bond down there, bro.

I use a moisturiser after I shave and never have problems with itching. I also heard that hair conditioner is good because it softens the hairs.

hey kimberleighlynn

I am trying to answer your question, but Lit is telling me you are not receiving e-mails or PMs

Ok first off is this the first time you have shaved??? When I first started shaving it iched and I got some ingrown hairs it drove me nuts!! after I shaved and kept it clean for a while the ingrown hairs went away and the iching stoped! I also stoped shaving the top area, like Cazper I just shave my testicles and I keep the top area trimed short with a beard trimmer! Here is how to shave!! This is writen for beard shaving But it works for other areas as well!

Always shave after or during a hot shower, never before.
• Always use hot water while shaving. Hot water softens the beard, opens pores and cleanses the skin.
• Before shaving, apply Pre-Shave Oil to protect the skin and to soften the beard. (I use the King of shaves brand and it is amazing how it helps to prevent razor burn keep away bumps and ingrown hairs it also in my experience gives a closer shave!)

• Use glycerin-based Shaving Cream or Shaving Soap for a close and comfortable shave. Avoid foams, gels or other products that contain numbing agents such as benzocaine or menthol, which tend to close pores and stiffen the beard.
• For best results, use a Shaving Brush made of badger hair. It helps generate a warm and rich lather, and softens and lifts the beard from the face. (This also applies to shaving elsewhere)
(Yes I Do use a old style shave soap and brush)

• Always shave with the grain first, i.e. in the direction the hair grows. Shaving against the grain first can cause ingrown hairs and razor burn. For an even closer shave, re-lather and shave lightly across or against the grain.
• Check to see whether the hair on your neck grows in the same direction as the hair on your face. If it doesn’t, make sure you adjust accordingly to shave with the grain.
• Use a razor which provides proper weight, balance and comfort for better control. (I use a Mach3)
• Avoid applying too much pressure on your razor since this is often the cause of razor burn and skin irritations. Always glide the razor gently over your face.
• In the event of nicks or cuts, use an antiseptic Alum Block to stop the bleeding.

• After shaving, apply alcohol-free moisturizing After-Shave Balm or After-Shave Gel to soothe, refresh and regenerate the skin. Avoid after-shaves which contain alcohol; these can irritate, dry out the skin and cause ingrown hairs. To heal ingrown hairs faster, moisturize the affected area with After-Shave Balm at bedtime and after shaving. (This is the Key to keeping away razor bumps and ingrown hairs!)

I've been shaving for a couple of years now. When I first started it was itchy for a few days. I've been using a sharp Bic or store brand throwaway without any problem.

My wife and I both shave and she enjoys the style for herself. I've never been a big fan of the bush so I'm happy about that and I make her happy that she does it. wink-wink

I shave in the shower and to get a close cock shave I save that for last. By then I've washed with soap and water and apply regular shaving cream. The menthole brand can get hot but it's a pleasant warmth. I get an even better shave if I get myself semi-erect. The benifit there is a fine finish...if desired.

Having done it for so long I can get pretty rough, with criss-cross motions to get a smooth finish.

My legs are naturally near-hairless and I've been teased by my friends about it. I'm sure if I shoved my hairless cock in their wives face they'd sing a different tune.
