OK,
I screwed up here. I have a story that I split into two parts due too length.....same chapter two equal parts...I submitted the first half along with a note in the field of what the deal was.
So, I go to submit the second half and of course it wont let me cuz I already submitted one under the title name.

What did I do wrong and what do I do now to fix this.....I dont want them posting half of the story only. I know Laurel and Manu are busy folks, but I have never had much luck getting a response to the very few inquiries that I have sent them....

HELP!

P.S. I know this was covered in here only recently but I couldn't find the thread.

You can't have two posts with the exact same title. You can do a Part 1, Part 2, etc.

When you say it is too long, just how long is it? I have seen posts that are many many lit pages in length.

Why not just change the post you just made and post the entire chapter? Just click on the post and you can change it by adding the rest of the text into the submission.

I figured it was up to us to submit it as two sections.......ugh.........Its 6500 words long.

Thank you pookie, I will go back to wherever and try to resubmit it.....Thanks

Glad I could help! ;)

6,500 words is not too long for one post I don't believe. I have seen much longer stories posted. There is one posted today that is over 12 lit pages. The only thing bad about a post that big is that it will not get the interest of those looking for a quick read. But 6500 words is a reasonable post.

Good luck with it. :)

Yeah it's 6500 word's and is a chapter two in an ongoing scenario.
I know its one post all unto itself, but I thought we had to split it up...apparently they do that for us at reasonable, and appropriate spots.

Cool......Im learnin.....thanks to people like you!

Just a clarification:

The story submission scripts automatically break longer stories into Lit pages of approximately 3500 words. I think the actual criteria for selecting the break point is the paragraph break closest to 25KB -- each full Lit page saves as a 24-25K file.

I don't know that "appropriate" can be applied to the process, because it's it's done strictly according to the file size without regard to the story's content.
