Can someone tell me about Benbecula and Isle of Skye?

Cool places to vacation?
Big difference between the two?
If you had to chose between one, which is it?

In the summer you get eaten alive by insects. In the winter it's akin to hell. Stunning scenery though, well worth a visit.

So is there a week between seasons that is prime? Do you golf? I hear there are cool courses up there.

High praise indeed. But I don't like scotch, too smokey. I am a whiskey drinker. I'll be drinking Jamesons.

Time of year to go?

Autumn. Early September. And don'y mention that Irish thing, they'll go all Wicker Man on you.

Pretty hard to mistake me for anything other than an American, especially if I am farting around Europe, but your point is well taken. Thanks man.

So which is it? Benbecula or Isle of Skye? Or is it all the same shit and I am just too far away to know what's what?

Skye has more going on, relatively. I did a tour of the islands about ten years ago, much of a muchness.

Irish whiskey?! Meh. It's got no flavor. Might as well be vodka. The Irish can do good beer (if you don't mind eating it with a fork), but that's all.

If you drink Jamesons on Skye you could ppossibly die - at the hands of the locals! You could not deliver a more calculated insult to the locals than to drink Jamesons.

The so called smokey whiskies are ones made with water from peaty areas. Stick to single malts especially the pale coloured (straw) malts. Fortunately many are available in the areas you mention. You will never go back to the Irish muck again.

It will rain a lot. There's not much happening on Sundays.
