Hello everyone, I`m hoping you might be able to help me. I recently, met a man from India here in the states. I was on my way out of town, after visiting family, and stopped to gas up before my three hour drive home. I walked into his work to pay for my gas and we just started talking, before I knew it a half an hour went by. Our conversation was very pleasant and we exchanged phone number`s and agreed to stay in touch. We both, on some level felt a trust and connection. I think we were realizing, we have the same spirit. Even though, he is Indian and Iam French Canadian/Native American it didn`t matter.I have never been racist, in fact I`ve always wanted to learn about other people and their cultures. I have had very few chances to met people of other cultures, so when I met this man I said to myself"this could be really cool". Which, is why I need your help!! Thank-you for being patient so far. As I was on my three hour drive home, I realized I could really like this. Then I realized I `ve never dated out of my race. Not by choice,I just have`nt had any opportunities. So I realized I needed some help in this area. I want to respect your culture and traditions. Only, I have no clue what they are. We have talked once on the phone since we met. We are very openminded people, so I feel he will respect my American way of life. He has been in the states for seven years, so he`s aware of our way of life. But his parent`s are still over there and he is still very tied to his family. He still calls India home, and he should that`s his homeland. So, please help as I don`t want to accidently offend him or his family.
