I am looking for a reliable editor or two that could help with my first two stories that I have written. I, as many, had gone through the long, enjoyable writing process... and excitedly submitted it right away! It was rejected however, and understanding the reasons for it decided to rewrite, revamp and so forth and then send it to an Editor to really give it some polish so I may resubmit.
The first Editor was listed as being available, and even checked the dates to make sure. I contacted them first, and they replied they were willing to assist, so I sent the story (which is currently 2 chapters so far). I did not hear anything back for about 2 weeks... and contacted them, realizing they might be busy but wondering some sort of time frame (as I had other stories in the works, and obviously want to finalize these and submit!
) They responded that they would work on it that weekend.... but it turned into another week and a half of no word at all.
I submitted the story to another Editor (listed as currently available) during that time, and had received only one of the story chapters back (being the second part not the first- resulting maybe in lacking some continuity)... and with some only general comments and grammar phrasing edits. I asked about the first, and she said she did not get it, to resend. I resent the first, and waited. A week later I wrote asking about it, and she said she was waiting for me to send. This happened again twice now, and I know I have attached them and sent them every single time.... as I still have the emails both sent to and received from this person.
(Sorry for the long description, but just frustrating)
So I am looking for an new editor. I prefer to find a female editor, as I would like to get a 'woman's POV' on certain aspects of the story (i.e. descriptive qualities, deeper sensual aspect as opposed to just raw sexual, given the nature of the story something appealing for women as well, and such); but willing to work with any as long as they understand this quality type I am going for. Hope this makes sense.
Also, the story deals with areas of incest in nature... but not so much as actual performed act. The story is more of a recollection of events, leading up to present... so I need someone comfortable with this, and knowledgable as to how to effectively and appropriately translate this.
Again, long winded... and apologies for that... once I get typing I just go...LOL.
But seriously looking and hoping to find some real, genuine and RELIABLE editors to work with now and possibly later on.
