After successful publication of a few stories, I've had two returned due to dialogue format. I have re-edited them myself, but apparently I'm missing something. Can anyone help me ? Thanks !

I currently have a lot of time spare and would be more than happy to help.

I've had the same rejection and you don't need an editor to find it. All you need is search function on your word processor.

The reason for my rejection was the lack of a closing quotation mark after a piece of dialogue, like this:

"Why did you do that?

"Because I could"

He shook his head.

I think Laurel has some software that looks for this problem. What the she or the software sees looks like this when put into the Literotica page format.

"Why did you do that?"

Because I could.

"He shook his head.

The last sentence looks like the start of a new dialogue and since there is no closing quotation mark, the same error will repeat to the end of the story. This messes up the line spacing to the point the story would be unreadable.

Just search the story for a single quotation mark. It will highlight each one. When you find a starting quotation mark, look for a closing quotation mark for that piece of dialogue. I'll bet you'll find you left out one or two. Just reading the story won't find it because your brain will add one because it knows that what you wanted to do.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't have a word processor. I actually type out all my stories on my android phone.
I did go back and edit the story, making sure i started each speaker as a new paragraph and my quotation marks were correctly placed. The story was still rejected, so can't figure out the problem.

I do all my work on my android phone. Since the story was rejected, I do not have a link. Trying to figure out how I can share it with someone for editing help.
I did go back and edit it again, making sure each speaker began a new paragraph and my quotation marks were correctly placed. The story was rejected again. Can't figure out what is the problem.

Post two or three samples of your dialogue, maybe we'll spot the problem.
