Hey,

Since we have a "Are you ready for some football?" thread started by kgboot and since there have to be NCAA Hoops fans here.........well here is it's own little thread.

Sometime close to March Madness we need to start a Pick Em on Yahoo or something and see who picks the wins in the March Madness Tourney........

Are y'all game?

You can talk about anything to do with NCAA Hoops here.......

looks like my UNC Heels have taken the year off..........LOL.

Duke is the odds on favortie to win it, with Kansas and a couple of others close behind though......then the pack fades a bit.

What do y'all see? Who do you like to win the Tourney? Who are the "cinderella's" going to be of this NCAA Hoops Season?

For the first time ever, my Gonzaga Bulldogs are in the Top 10 in the coaches' poll.

First off......Chief I love your new av, she is very hot:)!!

Now I would like to say that just because I'm from Kentucky doesn't mean I'm a Wildcat fan. As a matter of fact I am a red blooded UofL Card fan. I know we are not great this year but we are better than we have been in recent years. Now for my top dog pick, I really truly think that Duke is going to take it all this year, they are just loaded with talent and they are excuting beautifully. As far as who comes in behind them? I'm not sure who going to be in those spots.

*shameless bump for others to see* ;)

The Maryland Terrapins!

They recently laid an ass-beting on Number 5-ranked Virginia and, with the exception of Duke, would rule the ACC unchallenged.

But, though they lost to Duke in NC, they get a return engagement at Cole Field House later this year.

It's a good year for Maryland sports, with the football team going 10-1 and making it to the Orange Bowl. Now the hoops team is set for a Championship Run.

:)

Duke is doing very well this season, as is Ohio State. There will be some upsets in the tournament; there are some every year.

Hi, Cassidy. :)

Yes, I know Duke is doing well. OSU is surprising people also. I like Jim O'Brien, he brings lots of class to that program. He is a better coach than he gets credit for.

Hi, back atcha, chief.:)
Kisses too. I have missed you.

You like making me grovel for a pm, don't you?:D

Is there really any other team than Duke who would win this tourney? I would love my Villanova to do it but I am living in a real world.

Duke has always been my favorite after the Wildcats.

Kansas has the tools to beat Duke. This is one of those any "on given day match-ups." They have three three-point threats to beat the zone and they just run people to the ground in man to man coverage with thier fast-break game.

Lately they have been coasting the last five minutes or so of every game because thay are already at 100 points and the opponent is dwon by 20 or so.

Duke is playing good and has a great team. KU has a great tournament team. Very veteran and composed. I think the tournament comes down to those two teams.

Hey Chuckus Just making my first appearence to this thread.

Yes, As stated in another thread, the two teams that I just don't like at all are Duke and North Carolina. ( Let the flaming begin. ;) lol ) Chuckus already knows this and even though he is my partner in crime we don't always agree. With that said, I will say that of course I root for Oregon and USC ( Trojans ) but there are a few teams that I like to root for. Among them are Georgetown and Depaul. Even though the Great coaches of John Thompson and Ray Meyer are not there anymore, I still root for those schools. I'll have to wait for March Madness to really get into the men's game. That should be fun.

However, in the Women's game, I am a HUGE Tennessee Volunteers fan. I'm in love with Pat Summit. I've read tons and tons of articles of her. Wow!!! Can this Lady coach or what? TN Vixen darling. If you read this and can send me any info on or about Pat Summit and the Lady Vols, that would be much appreciated.

Okay! Let the games and rivalries begin. Good luck to all.

kg, Tennessee is a very good team but Connecticut's going to win the women's championship this year. How did the Lady Vols lose at Vanderbilt last week? Vandy's a Top-10 team but the Commodores hadn't beaten Tennessee in 24 tries. Looks to me like Connecticut, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Stanford are going to the Final Four.

As far as the men's tournament is concerned, in a single-elimination format, Duke might lose. Ask Florida State. The Blue Devils' free-throw shooting--especially that of Jason Williams--leaves something to be desired. The unpredictability of the tournament is what makes it so much fun.
