A man somewhere uses his creative abilities that could be used to make a great painting or novel to come up with an idea. He writes it down on paper that could hold a poem or a sketch. He uses engineering skills that could be used to build a safer more fuel efficient car to to form the idea. He gets a patent on it, taking up time and labor at the patent office when they could be approving the mext wonder drug. He sells the patent to an investor, who could have used the money to hire more people. Plastic and metal that could be used for medical equipment is bought. Machines that could be used for bookprinting or food processing are housed in a building that could be used for a school or a park. Workers who could be making anything from bombs to computers are brought in. The product is shipped in card board boxes that could have been musical instruments in trucks that could be transporting anything. The product is then bought at the store with money that could have gone to bills, groceries, rent, books, magazine subscriptions, charity or vice.
