Nate Silver: What Democrats should do next

Silver's "plan" is to promote a cage fight that he can broadcast and make bank on without changing a dam thing.

The words "self serving" come to mind almost immediately.

He can't afford the booze and fixin's.

Even his pot is probably homegrown.
He lashes out at many of my posts, seeking my attention. He’s a very angry, needy guy. Every once in a while I acknowledge him with a brief reply to lift his spirits.

An hurculean task.
With regard to Nate Silver’s idea and others who think Biden should step aside, I think a lot depends on what happens over the weekend and early next week.

The Biden campaign seems to be pinning its hopes on the ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos that will be recorded tomorrow during the president’s peak cognitive hours between 10 am and 4 pm. It will air later in the evening with excerpts running on Sunday morning. I’m not sure that a pre-recorded interview with a sympathetic fellow Democrat aired on a Friday night during a holiday weekend will change anyone’s perception but we’ll see.

The situation will become more clear when Congress returns next week. So far, these are the Democrats that I’m aware of that have expressed the opinion that Biden can’t win in November.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, TX

Rep. Raúl Grijalva AZ.

Rep. Jared Golden, Maine

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, WA

Former Rep. Tim Ryan, OH

Rep. Seth Moulton, MA

Rep. Raul Grijva, AZ

There might be some others that I’ve missed.

Trump has been convicted on 34 counts. He is a felon.
The Epstein papers released this week include 7 Trump trips on Epstein’s famous plane, extensive ongoing contact between Epstein and Trump, a sworn affadavit alleging that Trump sexually abused multiple children aged 14 or younger, and more.
Trump has threatened military tribunals against his political enemies, plans concentration camps and mass deportations, thinks everyone wants this current situation where women are coming near death in emergency room parking lots because their urgent needs for lifesaving care can no longer be legally met.
Trump plans to work with the Project 2025 planners to make the aunited States a fascist dictatorship.

The Democrats are not the party that needs to replace its candidate. Not for victory, and not for democracy.
