Naruto--Ten Years Later RP thread

Well be there round lunch time. So that will give us a day before I have to leave....

I headed in land to a small house on the shore of a lake. The trip would be uneventful I hoped.

Onimaru followed closely to the new stranger, both curious of his intent and greatful for his assistance, but now was not the time for such conversations, they needed to put some distance between them and their ambush point if their were others. Along the way he reaquired his Dai-shuriken placing it on his back once again, looking at the fallen tree and the dark red stain being all that was left of the retreating ninja. Doing his best to hide a growl in his throat he rejoined the traveling group, eventually they arrived at their destination, "So then we rest here and then carry on once night comes?"

"That would be up to your leader. I'm gona let the ladies have the rooms I'll stay out here", I said as I jumped to a branch of a tree across from the house.

Sonia

IC: While I required no specil treatment as a woman, I had no complaint about have the room for the night, and the comforts of a bed.

The next two days will show what they are made of and if they can handle what must be done in the end....

Hyuuga Goten: I turned to Onimaru "Onimaru sama, we can rest here for now . . ." I beckoned him to bend down so I could say something and whispered in his ear "I'm not sure I can trust this guy."

My steps were still a little unsteady and my backpack was more of a burden than most times. I started weighing options, as the medic I had to deal with everyone's wounds first. As the leader I had to worry about the safety of putting them in with a possible enemy chuunin or higher, based on that technique I saw he may have been Jounin. Although the Mist ninja seemed capable, the main one did mention something about being one of the best. It seemed like it would be safe, for now.

I then said "the girls will get the rooms, but " I beckoned everyone to gather in a circle around me.

Draco stepped into the cabin, then leaned up against a wall. He could see their leader's mistrust of the young ninja, and frankly, he could understand. However, they had to trust some people. Not everyone was going to be like whoever their target was. Still, Draco would keep alert. It was just his way, and he intended to keep these friends together as long as possible.

Hearing Goten's suspicions out loud Onimaru almost leapt to the man's defence once again, but held his opinions in check, Goten was the leader here and his decisions would need to be upheld, disagreements would only put greater strain on the already delicate group trust. Following Goten carefully he tried to assess just how much the previous battle had drained him, judging from his awkward motions and slowed steps, it was quite obvious that rest was undoubtedly needed. Not to mention that since the ambush everyone was fairly on edge, himself included, looking around he noted the calm alertness of Draco and briefly wondered if he looked half that composed.

At Goten's urging he closed with their leader hoping his words might bring some calm to everyone's frayed nerves...

Hanabi had followed in silence to the home of the stranger, not really focused on if she could trust him or not, her thoughts still mostly turned inwards. Trying to be discreet she kept her distance from both Goten and Onimaru because both may pick up on her uneasy mood, but Goten would have little trouble identifying the fact she'd been crying only a minute ago and had no real desire to explain why.

At the prospect of rest Hanabi had to repress the urge to look happy, she wasn't tired physically but the mental stress of the day made her feel the need for sleep more than anything else. But as they all gathered together to discuss the plans from here she again decided to dodge Goten and Anji by standing close to Draco, while waiting for Goten to begin she whispered quietly, "Thanks again for before."

Draco smiled, and nodded. "It was nothing. A pretty girl like you shouldn't be so unhappy. It'll only cause wrinkles. So, mind telling me about your family?" He looked at her out of the corner of his eye, studying her. She was really quite attractive, though she was probably younger than he was.

She smiled at his compliment lightly then more widely at the question, glad to talk to get her mind off things, and happy that the topic wasn't about her past again. "Well I'm a member of the Huuga Clan, considered by many to be the strongest Clan in Konoha, and one of the few remaining Noble Houses in the Village. Of the Clan's we have been the least effected by the recent tragedies that have befallen the Village over the years since the end of the Wars." She said feeling a bit of Family Pride shine through her words, his glance didn't go unnoticed and for a brief moment she wondered what he thought of her but she waited for him to respond without commenting about it.

Draco smiled, studying her as she responded. She took great pride in the fact that her family was doing so well. When she looked up at him, waiting for him to respond, he thought for a moment. "My father was not a Ninja. Nor was my mother. My father was a Samurai, a practitioner of the way of Bushido-den. He decided, after fully training me in Bushido-den, that I should train with a ninja master, to round out my skills. The training was difficult, but I would not be here today if I hadn't undergone it."

Hyuuga Goten: I looked at them, and then was about to say something when I noticed the exchange between my cousin and the older kid, Draco. I was about to say something but my uncle's words came to my mind and I decided not to. He collected his thoughts "alright team, I know you're all tired, so we're taking a rest, we have to decide on who has first watch, I want you to rotate, mist and konoha ninjas will be teamed for watch this time, I know it'll be hard but I'll need you all behind me on this." I looked at them all expectantly I knew it wouldn't go over well and I was hoping for some support. I then put my pack down "oh and before we rest, I order you all to be checked out by me, so that we can make sure you're all ready to go by morning."

Namamura Suitora: I looked at the kid he was tired, we all were, I knew Honryuu and I wouldn't like being separated, but it would be nice to know some of the girls on the team, at least we could learn somethinga bout them. Then there was the Kaguya girl, it wasn't in our mission parameters, but there was something that was odd about her, being so far from home. I didn't think the MizuKage would want us to let her go, she could be the last of a very certain bloodline. I looked at the kid "I'm pretty sure we don't mind Hyuuga," I looked to Honryuu and Yukikame to check.

Hanabi:
Listening to Draco explain about himself she nodded knowing that some of the more unorthodox methods of approaching Ninja training had produced some interesting results. Then the orders began and as she listened to Goten's orders she felt herself sigh in relief, knowing that at least she wouldn't get paired with Anji and have to face him yet. Giving Draco one last greatful look she walked over Goten for the manditory health check that he said they needed.

Yukikame:
It had been a curious journey so far, but despite her initial misgivings after that last battle Yukikame began to have hope that this mission was not going to be a total disaster. Following the newcomer had seemed odd, but better to find out now if he was a potential ally or enemy than when they may be in far worse shape to do anything about it. Thinking about the orders about the mixed watches she understood that this would give some much needed trust between the groups, she didn't really like it but it did seem neccessary. So as Suitora's gaze swept over her she gave a silent nod.

Draco nodded, smiling. Then he listened to the orders. He figured he'd probably not be selected for the watches, being from neither village. Still, he had developed the intention of staying up to keep an eye on Hanabi. After all, she was one of the youngest there, and her lack of confidence meant she'd need looking after. He looked up at the Mist ninja group, studying them for a moment, then gave a nod, as his eyes landed on the female ninja. Then he walked over to Goten slowly. "Do what you have to to ensure our condition, but be sure to get some rest yourself. You look exhausted."

Listening intently to the orders Onimaru was determined to make sure he would not fail in protecting his comrades again, but as the mixed watch command came down he felt conflicted, thinking that he may be left out of the rotation. "Goten-san.....As I, nor Draco, are not of either village are we to be left out of the watch rotation or will we be together on our watch." He asked feeling a bit odd, it wasn't that he didn't trust the others in their ability to protect the group, he just felt the need to be doing something.

Hyuuga Goten: I got the nod from the mist ninjas and then turned to listen to Dracon san to Onimaru sama's concerns. Turning to Draco "Draco san, I can stay up for another 4 days of battle, I may look tired, but that is because my chakra is a little low right now, I'm on some soldier pills and so I'll be better in an hour or two." I looked to them all "I can do this two ways, either we can have 2 watches of 3 person teams, and the last watch will be a 2 person team with our best fighters. The other way I can do it, is have 4 2 man team watches." I looked at them all "Everyone is going to be on watch no matter what." I watched them in silence for a moment "if we have less watches, we all sleep less, more watches we all rest more." I waited for them to respond, I knew what I had planned if they wanted bigger teams, and if they had wanted smaller teams, I was already working that out in my head. "So, what would you all like? more rest or less rest?"

Namamura Suitora: I listened to him for a bit and then nodded I didn't care much as to who I was paired up with, as long as someone from our village could find out more about that Kaguya girl. I looked to Yukikame wondering what she was thinking, it had been a long time since any of the three of them had been seperated. It didn't matter to us, we were trained to fight in worse conditions. I waited for her to say something, I nodded to her letting her make the decision for us.

Hanabi:

Listening to the various options, she realized that her best choice would be two person teams, at the very least she knew she wouldn't get teamed with Anji or Sonia, she wasn't very eager to talk with either till she managed to sort things out. "I feel that more rest would be best, two person teams is good with me." She said giving a strong nod to her cousin. Then looking around hoping to see the others in agreement with her.

Yukikame:

Before she could speak the other Hyuuga expressed her opinion and seeing no real problem with it she spoke up as well, "I agree, the greater amount we rest the more prepared for the day tomorrow. But may I ask how are we to come up with what the teams will be." She asked wanting to know who she'd be teamed with so she could ready herself for the experience.

Draco nodded. Then he saw the look in Hanabi's eyes. He considered for a moment, then bowed slightly. "If you don't mind, I think I'd like to continue my conversation with Miss Hyuuga. Besides, I don't feel like sleeping yet. We'll take the first watch, please."

I sat down on a tree branch eating an apple from a near by tree. I needed to get a few hours sleep to regain the energy I used on protecting the girl. I wonder if they will need me for there watch or if they even trust me to take part in there watch...and I really hope they dont look in the shed...at least its locked...that would be bad...

Nodding at the idea that Draco and Hanabi would take the first watch, "I volunteer for second watch. Team me up with whomever, I have no preference." He said looking over to where the stranger had tucked himself into the tree, "Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to prepare my bedding, Goten-san I'm in no need of any treatment but if you still feel the need to give me a clear bill of health finish with the others I won't be hard to find." He said again walking around the corner of the house and began unpacking his backpack, "Maybe I'll get a full night's sleep this time around." He said outloud for anyone close enough to hear.

Hyuuga Goten: I shook my head, and said "No, first watch goes to Sonia and Yukikame," I looked at them all "Second watch goes to Honryuu and Hanabi, Third watch goes to Onimaru and Suitora, and last watch is you and I Draco." I looked at him "I need someone to help me stay alert, I'll be tired by the time I clear all of you, and you're one of the most alert people on this team." I turned to Sonia "Sonia, Yukikame, let me check you two out first, then I'll clear the others for bed."
