Hey, guys.
I've been lurking around here to catch up on everyone. I'm still tapped out for poetry these days, minus one new thing I submitted today, but it's not anything special, just an exercise to keep myself sharp (if i was ever sharp to begin with, ho ho ho.)
I'm wondering how many/if any of you are doing Nanowrimo this month. I've started mine, up to 4,000 words now, and I've been keeping it in an online LJ just to constantly remind myself to work on it a bit each day.
I find that most literature these days is drifting towards a more poetic form of prose; the last few books I've read have had much more of a dream-prose feel and I'm hoping this trend might make it a little easier on the poetry "market" for those of us aiming at publication.
Oh and in other good news I got married
So hopefully this isn't a repeater thread, but I'm curious. Anyone doing Nano? If so, how/where are you keeping track of what you've done so far, and do you find Nano a good "excuse" to finally tackle a novel, or is it more of an experiment for you?
My stance: As much as Nano tends to result in a lot of futuristic novels about talking unicorns from what I see in some of the groups I'm part of, (like "Income Tax Preparers of Pern"), I still think it's mad cool when anyone writes a novel.
