I'm talking about THE song you identify with, one that you could wake up to every morning, and boost you through the day.

Steppenwolf "Born to be Wild"

*What's your defining song? :D

The Bee Gees - Give Your Best
From the album "Odessa"
(spoken)
It's a square dance Mr Marshall. It's a square dance on the floor.
It's a square dance Mr Perkins. It's a square dance to be sure, to be sure.
Ev'rybody, grab partners ...

I'm just a clown that used to run around .
I used to have a million friends.
I used to start where ev'rybody ends.
But I just give my best to my friends .

I've done my shows. Ev'rybody knows .
I nearly sold all my clothes.
One man can give; another has to lend.
So I just give my best to my friends.
(spoken)and so you should .

And when you think that your life isn't right.
You know the day isn't always like night.
You've had your peace now it's time for you to fight.
Just give your best to your friends.

I'm just a clown that used to run around .
I used to have a million friends.
I used to start where ev'rybody ends .
So I just give my best to my friends.

And when you think that your life isn't right.
You know the day isn't always like night.
You've had your peace now it's time for you to fight.
Just give your best to your friends.

(music)

And when you think that your life isn't right .
You know the day isn't always like night .
You've had your peace now it's time for you to fight .
Just give your best to your friends.
Just give your best to your friends.

:rose: To my friends. :)

" The Logical Song " by Supertramp pretty much sums up most of my life.

When I was young
It seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees
Well they'd be singing so happily
Oh joyfully, oh playfully watching me
But then they sent me away
To teach me how to be sensible
Logical, oh responsible, practical
And then they showed me a world
Where I could be so dependable
Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am

I say: Now watch what you say
Or they'll be calling you a radical
A liberal, oh fanatical, criminal
Oh won't you sign up your name
We'd like to feel you're acceptable,
respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable
whoa (tick tick tick yeah)

But at night when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am, who I am, who I am, who I am

A-Ha! We have a Tarakian!

Good songs, of course depending on our life at the time, different songs trade places. I always seem to gravitate back to one of the first I heard, "Born to be Wild." All I need to hear is the opening, "get your motor running.." and I'm out of the sack, on my feet, out the door ready to compete......motivated, educated, dedicated,....sound off! :D

Fanfare for the Common Man...

Wellington's Victory...

"I'm you're Venus, I'm your fire, At your desire..." Bananorama :D

Of course, "Who wears short shorts," is also a strong contender in my book...

"I Want It All" and "One Vision," both by Queen, are two songs that never fail to get me pumped up and ready to take on the world, but I'd be hard pressed to name just one song that identifies me.

Doobie Brothers

My second favorite wake up song:

Come on over baby got nothin' to lose
Well you never get enough o' those
Highway blues
Just another road to freedom and you know that
It ain't no crime
Can't you hear it baby
Like thunder I know
Like the magic and the passion
Of rock and roll
It's like a Harley motorcycle baby raging out of control
Danger up ahead of you
Comin' up behind you too
Turn it to the left
Turn it to the right
Now you twist the throttle up
With all your might

Dangerous, that's why you love it

Well you like to drive fast baby
Slide up right beside me watch the
Broken lines fly
'Cause there's no one who can catch us
Just let anybody give it a try
Can't you hear it baby like thunder I know
Like the magic and the passion of rock 'n' roll

You're a rebel and you know it
And you're not afraid to throw it away

*I'm awake! :D

In terms of my heart, its Garth Brook's "Shameless" because it says so well the way in which I wanted to love, and be loved.

Well I'm shamemeless, when it comes to loving you
I'll do anything you want me to
I'll do anything at all

And I'm standing here for all the world to see
Oh baby, that's what's left of me
Don't have very far to fall

You know now I'm not a man who's ever been
Insecure about the world I've been living in
I don't break easy, I have my pride
But if you need to be satisfied

I'm shameless, oh honey, I don't have a prayer
Every time I see you standin' there
I go down upon my knees

And I'm changing, swore I'd never compromise
Oh, but you convinced me otherwise
I'll do anything you please

You see in all my life I've never found
What I couldn't resist, what I couldn't turn down
I could walk away from anyone I ever knew
But I can't walk away from you

I have never let anything have this much control over me
I work too hard to call my life my own
And I've made myself a world and it's worked so perfectly
But it's your world now, I can't refuse
I've never had so much to lose
Oh, I'm shameless

You know it should be easy for a man who's strong
To say he's sorry or admit when he's wrong
I've never lost anything I've ever missed
But I've never been in love like this

It's out of my hands

I'm shameless, I don't have the power now
I don't want it anyhow
So I got to let it go

Oh, I'm shameless, shameless as a man can be
You make a total fool of me
I just wanted to you to know

Oh, I'm shameless, I just wanted you to know
Oh, I'm shameless, Oh, I'm down on my knees...shameless

In terms of getting me cranked, it's Boston's "Long Time".:)

It's been such a long time,
I think I should be going,
And time doesn't wait for me,
It keeps on rolling.
Sail on,
On a distant highway.
I've got to keep on chasing a dream.
I've gotta be on my way;
Wish there was something I could say.

Chorus :-
Well, I'm taking my time,
I'm just moving on.
You'll forget about me after I've been gone,
And I take what I find,
I don't want no more,
It's just outside of your front door.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's been such a long time.
It's been such a long time.

Well [Woo?] I get so lonely
When I am without you,
But in my mind, deep in my mind,
I can't forget about you.
Good times
And faces that remind me;
I'm trying to forget your name
And leave it all behind me.
You're coming back to find me.

Chorus

[Guitar Solo]

It's been such a long time,
I think I should be going,
And time doesn't wait for me,
It keeps on rolling.
There's a long road
I've gotta stay in time with.
I've got to keep on chasing that dream,
Though I may never find it,
I'm always just behind it.

Chorus

Well, I'm taking my time,
I'm just moving on.
[Repeat and fade]

WORK, uh-huh, what is it good for, Absolutely Nothing! Call it in sick, I say WORK, good gawd, what is it good for?

George Clinton.........

Atomic Dog.

*Why must I chase the cat, why must I chase the cat? Gotta be the dog in me! Bowowow yippie-o yippie-a, Bowowow yippie-o yippie-a! :D

I like this thread...it makes me feel good, and makes me wanna dance.:)

When I'm feeling funky, its The Commodores "Brick House".

She's a brick----house
Mighty might just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick----house
The lady's stacked and that's a fact,
ain't holding nothing back.

She's a brick----house
She's the one, the only one,
who's built like a amazon

We're together everybody knows,
and here's how the story goes.

1. She knows she got everything
a woman needs to get a man, yeah.
How can she use, the things she uses
36-24-36, what a winning hand!

Chorus

2. The clothes she wears, the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees

Chorus

Bridge

Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, shake it down down down..... (repeat)

Queen

Overused by sports arenas, but great nonetheless!

I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortuen and everything that goes with it
-
I thank you all -

But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -

*All of us! :D

like you could possibly ever forget us dancing to it???:D

here's one for a slow dance:

Brooks and Dunn

I am that Man

You put your heart up on a shelf
I know it's hard to be by yourself
You need someone that's true and strong
Baby someone just came along

I am that man
You're trying to find
I am that man
You had in mind
And I'll give you all my love
'Til you understand
I won't give up
'Cause I know
I am

Talk is cheap, it ain't worth a dime
So don't talk to me, just give me some more time
I'm gonna show you what love can be
My job won't be donw until you believe

I am that man
You're trying to find
I am that man
You had in mind
And I'll give you all my love
'Til you understand
I won't give up
'Cause I know

I am that man
You're trying to find
I am that man
You had in mind
And I'll give you all my love
'Til you understand
I won't give up
'Cause I know

I am that man
