As posted, Sam & Nirvana are expecting. The baby's sex is as yet a mystery, but Sam has given us the go-ahead on suggesting names. So...have at it!

Winner recieves an all-expense paid trip to London to attend the naming ceremony and babysit. :cathappy:

Actually, put the naming rights on e-bay and they can pay for college before the kids' even born.

Julia for a girl. Julian for a boy. Just a thought. :D

Or to follow the Earl's suggestion, Colleen, Roxanne, Elizabeth, Sarah, Danielle, or Honey.

Or Carson for a boy. Or George. Or Earl. :D

Copied from the other thread:

Well, since I know we're not having a girl, so there's no chance of thievery :) , some of the names we were considering for a girl were:

Phaidra

Maya

Lilith

Iliana

Adira

Colleen Melissa for a girl.

Thomas William for a boy.

Cool ideas.

Perhaps Thomas Robert for a boy.

Larissa and Melina also come to mind.

We have 3 names in mind, each as a sort of back-up for the other, in case he doesn't come out "looking" like the name we picked. I hear that happens a lot. ;) The middle name will be Michael, after my brother. For first names, we're considering:

Zaipher

Isaiah

and

Gideon

Thanks! :) I thought it only right, since my brother passed away last month, during my pregnancy. For that reason, I'm kinda' glad it wasn't a girl, just so I could give the baby his name. Although, that's not to say we wouldn't have been just as thrilled w/a girl. :rose:

Marcus Allen for a boy

Amber Grace for a girl.

Bitchy McNeedsalay for anything else.

Michael is now often used for girls. I think it's a great girl's name myself.

And I like Zaipher--Zai is a cool nickname for a kid.

Yeah, you name that kid 'Earl' and I will come down to London and take it away from your cruelty! I think that's a bit an ugly name. An Earl is a noble title. The Earl is one of a kind. 'Earl' sounds like a good ol' boy in dungarees and not much else.

Apologies if anyone's actually called Earl here.

The Earl

Congratulations. I wanted "Ruby" or "Rafaella" for a girl, but we got a boy, so I have a "Rafael". It's traditional to name sons after grandparents in my family, but that would have made him "Boris".

Yikes! Was granddad Boris forgiving of you for not going with tradition?

And Rafael is a great boy's name. "Rafe" is nice and boyish :)

Hey, "My Name is Earl" is one of the top shows on U.S. television. Of course...the character is a good ol' boy but a fairly smart and endearing one.....

Love that show!

We wanted a name that's not too common (in Britain -- it's common in Italy and Spain) , Biblical, and didn't sound like he would be born sporting a long grey beard like Jeroboam or Jehosiphat.
