Using barns from the early 1800/1850's. 16 x 16 hard rock maple timbers so hard they cannot be nailed. They must be drilled and pegged. Amish craftsmen to dissemble the 15 barns and re assemble just one, using only the best beams.
Staircase to the second floor an actual tree, using it's limbs to support the stairs.

I happen to own 4 barns just like that....though the stairs gave way 2 years ago.
I'll let your addition stand since you went to the trouble of giving explaination. I'm generous like that. Though gnarly limbs to support a stair case might just freak me out.
