Every once in a while, we get back to myth posts because of the whole Venus and Cupid connection, but nobody talks about the most important one.
Oedipus
As you can see, this myth isn't about nor includes pedophilia.

I may not be remembering it correctly, but as I recall, the story is about bad karma.
The father killed various men and warriors and had sex with their wives, in turn his son was destine to kill his father and have sex with his father's wife.

Love making was done in secret starting at age 19.
At 17 he sort of snuggled up to her, but nothing happened.
It is important to note 17 was the legal age of consent for boys in ancient Greece (higher for girls).
Before 17 he never even thought of his mother in a sexual way.

This is an insest story, not a pedophilia story.

I think his constant "companion" was Priapus (god with huge erect cock) when Oedipus married his mother, and later gouged his eyes out for sinning against his father (where we get the myth of going blind after masturbation).

I think the idea can be wrapped around many different settings but would be more dynamic with an killer twist ending such as a boy growing up as an orphan not realizing until manhood that the man he killed was his father and married or had sex with was his mother. If the story can be layered correctly it can be a true classic.

Hey, isn't that in the Bible somewhere?

No, it's an ancient Greek myth, with Oedipus being the main character, hence the name Oedipus-complex (the desire to kill ones father and to have sex with ones mother).

I know about that.
What do you think this whole thread is about?
My question was about the idea GratefulFred had.

For once, GratefulFred actually told the truth this time by telling the myth how we know it.

Someone obviously has broken into my account causing major damage to my good name. If you do happen to find that person let me know.

Dear GratefulFred,

As you and perhaps others may have guessed I have hacked into your account you worthless piece of trash.

As a published author many times over, I will be soon be submitting stories under your name written with such keen intellect that Dr. M, Pure, Cloudy and others will all be worshiping the ground you walk upon.

After your stories rise to the top of the "Loving Wives" list, I will depart leaving you with a tremendous fan base. They will be demanding that you share in the social discourse and continue to produce classic works of literature.

Your days of writing satire will be over and my revenge will be complete.

Fuck off faker. You can't be for real. You even had a spelling error - "your worthless piece of trash." should read "you worthless piece of trash."

Go to hell imposter!

Get off of my account!

Can we please get back to the topic of a similar storyline as Oedipus the King.
For some reason I'm reminded of Final Fantasy XII reading the storyline.
I think this could be a good story for a mature video game.

Dearest GratefulFred,

It is I your favorite hacker!

Do you need glasses? The quote had no error. You made a feeble attempt to slip in a letter in the word "You" to save your already doomed life.

It was I who suggested the comments concerning Oedipus.

Get off of this thread as soon you will be known as the king of "Loving Wives".

Sincerely yours,

Stephen King - now going under the name GratefulFred

My identity is revealed at last! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Now Fantasies, you were saying?

hmm I would suggest changing your password, unless your split personality already did?

Stephen King will no longer be bothering us as I took your advice and changed my password. I suspect that so long as he never guesses my one letter password I should be safe from him ever returning to Literotica.

Who needs that horror hack anyways?

Ho! Ho! Ho! It's a wonderful life time...not!

I have no clue as to why I have so many posts in this thread as the subject matter is way too serious. Please someone get this thread back on track.

You are mistaken about the Oedipus storyline

Oedipus was the son of the Tracian king whome the Oricle of Delphi predicted would kill his father.

The King (father) ordered the son to be exposed in the wilds (normal custom in Greece for unwanted children) to die.

A shepred took pity on the child and raised him ... jump 20 something years when grown he sought to make his way in the would and while walking along the road refused to yield to a chariot and ended up fighting and slaying the driver (you guessed it ... The King of Trace.)

Sometime later came to the city of Trace where ... he ends up solving a riddle and gets to wed the widowed Queen (mother) ... jump 20 years .... discovers the truth of things ... gouges out his eyes and wanders the world.

yeah but don't you think before oedipuss knew that it was his mom, he fucked her on thier wedding night?

Yes but you are forgetting a few things.
He didn't just happened to marry his mother, he fell in love with her as his lover (intercourse with mother at 19).

He had some children by her he didn't know about and thus was forced to marry her before his death (assassination), but he still didn't know about his children (until his death) who were ordered not to see their biological father.

In those "jump ahead 20 or so years" gaps, Greek gods were waching over, giving weapons and orders to mortals, so you skipped a great deal.
