in the "ask me a question" thread the current question is, "what would your dream house look like?" I'm not very good at describing things like that, but there are some things my dream house would definitely have to have, and since the question would be answered by someone else by the time I get done typing, I'll answer it here.

first thing... all one level. I hate stairs, and we have to let reality intrude here... my health isn't fantastic and it'll most likely get worse, so everything needs to be on one level.... or have an elevator to get to the 2nd floor.

fairly big, airy rooms with lots of windows to let in the sunlight. since the house is on top of a hill overlooking the ocean, it also affords a spectacular view no matter where you are in the house. on the other hand, because I can sometimes have a weird sleep schedule all 4 bedrooms will be equipped with heavy drapes operated by remote control so that it can be night-time in an instant... kind of like the deal that cameron diaz's character had in the holiday, if you've ever seen that.

a big patio with a grill and a swimming pool. a hot tub. a sound system that can be heard throughout the house, with at least a couple of different control centers so that you don't have to be in one particular room or go to that room if the mood strikes you to hear a song. each control center would have a computer set-up and all my music would have been converted to digital form so that any song I wanted to hear could be accessed at any time.

state-of-the-art home entertainment systems in each bedroom, but one room that goes above and beyond: my own theater set-up with enough comfortable chairs for 25 people. that's more people than I know, so that should be plenty.

another room that has recording equipment complete with a drum machine, a bass and a couple of different guitars. I don't write songs, but I'd still like to do recordings of the songs I do know how to play, and with a set-up like that I could make backing tracks for myself so that I could go out into bars and do gigs on my own. not for money, but just because I want to do it. ideally I'd be in a band but I know that it's hard to find the right bunch of guys and I don't want to be dependent on anyone.

that's all I can think of... the kitchen would, of course, be state-of-the-art, too, but as for appliances and colors, fabrics, furniture in the other rooms... I'm clueless so I'd just hire a decorator. or, I'd let my baby take care of the decorating, because in a perfect world we'd be living in this house together.

thank you.. it does, doesn't it? I'm thinking hawaii or some other place warm... if that's not possible, hell... we'll throw a small indoor pool in there, too. lol.

yeah, I'm thinking that the rest of my family would be on a permanent rotation in and out of the place. lol.

other than the fact that we're getting blizzardized here, the weekend is going as well as can be. how about yours?

I hate it... I can't imagine living someplace they get snow all the time. I want snow on christmas eve and then I want it to be 65 degrees the day after christmas. is that too much to ask? lol

last weather report I heard last night said we'd get about 14 inches altogether by the time it's over.
