Yes I actually pump the gas, check the oil, fill the oil, fill the tires, get bitched at about the gas prices, pump the diesel, wash the windshields, kiss the babies and give the dogs treats...

okay well maybe not kiss the babies but everything else was in my job description... and that didn't include the duties I had inside at the car dealership (sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, hauling car parts around)

working the register at a gas station isn't a real job :p it's one I'd love to have but gawd it'd be boring
damn... your job is more involved than mine was. all I had to do is pump the gas.... I mean, we sold oil and cigarettes so I had to ring them up, but I never had to fill the oil or tires or any of that stuff. hell, I don't know of any gas station in this area that still does that stuff.... the station I worked for is the only one that will even pump your gas for you.

if I came through your station.... would you kiss me and give me a treat? ;)

that sucks. were you able to get it off or are you going to just have to live with it..... or get the car painted? I don't know what gets in to people, whether it occurs to them at all how much money someone might have to spend to fix the damage they did. maybe that's part of the thrill of it for them....

we were kind of lucky, because it didn't cost us anything to find out what the problem was.... it could have cost big-time, because after changing fuses with no luck my bro tried to get in touch with an electrician that advertised in the phone book as having "24 hour emergency service". thank goodness no one answered the phone there. who would have thought that bad customer service could be a good thing?

Going to go have the car buffed and waxed the end of this week, after I get back from Ohio sometime. See if that'll get the paint out. If not it will probably need repainted or see if it can be matched. Its just on one side. The car is only a yr old, so fully insured/ But, of course their is a 500 hundred dollar deductable.....

Yes that prak could of cost you big bucks. Great that you found out what it was before you had to fork all that over for nothing. I think they do it out of puredisreguard for other's!

No kidding you had it done too? Their in Ohio?
yep..... I know a few people that have had their surgery done in dayton, but I had mine done right here in the town I live in. I've heard my dr. has had some troubles since then, but I guess I was lucky because I didn't have any problems.

good for her and good for you. I was really very lucky, and I honestly think I'd be dead by now if I hadn't had the surgery.

yep.. same with her.. although I thought she might die a couple of times from having it.. any surgery is a risk. ..

my mother tried to talk me out of it because she was afraid I'd die on the table. I tried to tell her, it's not like I was living much of a life. what can you do when you get out of breath getting up off the couch?

the ironic thing is that in some ways I think I'd be better off if I had died back then, before the surgery..... I didn't realize how much some things could hurt. still, I wouldn't want to go back to living like that.

I know exactly what your saying.. not personally... but I watched her go through it all. When she was having all the problems.. my so called hubby said 'If she dies its your fault".. because I DID encourage her to get it done. That should tell you what kind of a person he is.
BITE your tongue.. dont ever wish you had died... I know alot of times we all feel that way.. I'm glad their or no guns here or I probably would a used one long ago (on me.. if i were not to coward).. Thats how I used to think... but now.. i'm really glad each day I wake up,.. because even though its a miserable home life.. I have my other family and friends who always make it brighter. And I know without me ... my daughter wouldnt stand a chance. People do many things for their kids.. guess i'm one of um..

don't mind me... I'm just wallowing in self-pity. that's what I do, didn't you get that memo?

I do hurt a lot..... but I also know that as long as I'm still breathing, there's always the hope that things will get better. sometimes I think I lose sight of that, but I must still be aware of it on some other level because I haven't done any permanent damage.

your daughter is lucky to have you.

so when did you have the surgery and how much did you lose? Just curious.
january of 2001 and I lost about 240 pounds all together. I've.... ummmm.... gained about 60 back. kind of embarrassing, but I'm still much better off than I was before. when was your daughter's? (I won't ask how much weight she's lost.... that's kind of a personal thing that she might not want you sharing.)

I've heard those stories, too.... that's why I know I need to start watching it again. it doesn't really help that I work in a kitchen.

the biggest problem is that I didn't take the necessary steps to change my relationship with food while I wasn't able to eat very much. I still eat the same kind of crap that I used to, and food is still the friend/lover that's never turned its back on me.

if I could give anyone considering the surgery one piece of advice, it would be to do the things I didn't do.....

your daughter is doing very well... congratulate her for me and tell her to keep up the good work.

Yeah she can still only eat little amounts. ....I think shes gonna need the surgery to remove the loose skin ... ugh... another surgery to go through. ... I think she knows if she gains any back i'll stangel her.... LOL...Sure will pass on your congrad's .

I had that, too. I still have some I'd like to get rid of, but they're considered more "cosmetic" procedures. the first one was a health issue.

one thing they'll probably say is she has to wait. I was told that I had to be 18-24 months post-op so that I would have already lost most or all of the weight that I was going to lose.

I figured it would be too soon for her. Plus her wound had busted open and has just really closed all the way up this past month.
