I saw an article in usa today a few days ago about the different celebs that have come out both for and against mel gibson and whether or whether or not he's anti-semitic. I'm not gonna join that debate.... if mel makes a movie I think would be good, I'd probably watch it. it's like listening to queen.... I didn't stop doing that just because I found out freddie mercury was gay. if I like something, I like it.
here's the thing I wanted to comment on regarding the whole mel gibson thing: rob schneider took out a full page ad in variety declaring that mel is an anti-semite. he went on to say that he would never work with mel gibson.
rob schneider. yeah, deuce bigalow.... that rob schneider.
I got news for you, rob.... do you really think that mel gibson gives a fuck whether you'd ever work with him or not?!? hell.... if anything he's probably relieved that he can cross you off the list of marginally talented (?) hacks that might call him up wanting a part in one of his movies. he's probably thrilled that he doesn't have to check his caller i.d. to see whether or not it's you on the line.

And still wondering how many people don't remember what it's like when their uncle got drunk last Thanksgiving and threatened to kill his wife... Or was that just my family that has the insane drunks and therefor can sympathize at all on any level with Gibson? Hell my fiance is half Jewish...

there's definitely no telling what someone will or won't say when they're shitfaced. it kind of reminds me of a letter I read in "dear abby" awhile back. ) a woman wrote in all upset because her hubby had undergone surgery... one of the recovery nurses told her that the anesthetic was pretty much a truth serum, you weren't able to lie about anything while you were under. so, she asked her hubby if he'd ever had an affair and he said yes.some later responses basically said that the first nurse was pretty much full of it, there are no guarantees that a person can't lie while under anesthetic. the patient may even say things that have no basis in fact at all. then they followed with stories to back that point up.

I was watching regarding henry today when I got home from work. well, mom was watching it, but there wasn't anything else on so I didn't turn the channel. I kinda like sappy movies sometimes, anyway..... big ol' soft-hearted bastard that I am....
if you don't know the movie, henry is a hard-ass rich prick lawyer, basically. he goes out one night to get cigarettes and gets shot in the head. besides having to re-learn how to do everything, the part of his brain that made him an asshole was destroyed. that may be a little over-simplified but that's pretty much it.
anyway, he asks his wife how they met. she told the story about how they were at a party. he came up to her and said, "I'm henry, and you're beautiful." there's more to the story but it boils down to the fact that he exuded such confidence that he drew her in.
is it ever really that simple in real life? could an approach like that work? does confidence mean that much? I've told girls how pretty or cute I thought they were, but I could never be accused of "exuding confidence". is that something that's innate or can it be learned?

confidence may mean something for some girls but I guess i'm just the opposite of that a think shy guys are hot, especially when/if they somehow get up the nerve to actually come talk to me, because deep down inside I'm pretty shy myself, the reason I meet most people online and talk to most of my real life friends on line as well.

And no kidding, my aunt and grandma were both nurses. That's not a "proven" theory lol People just say EVERYTHING that pops into their stoned heads then lol That's all.
