Why does this generation think that removing a monument his going to change anything at all? The VAST majority of people understand our history and are proud of the progress we've made. They understand that these monuments are documents and not any sort of honor. Attempting to ignore or hide our history is futile. These people are wrong. How can you advocate for the removal of these monuments and not the burning of historical literature?

One of the hallmarks of a mass movement is the view of the past as an indictment, the belief that the present is steeped in and corrupted by the past and that the future can be perfected and human nature abrogated if and only if everyone adopts the philosophy of the mass movement.
