It's not a war. At least not to me. It's just Lit, and that means at worst it's just words. If you're (not you specifically, Lavy) so sensitive that what people write here is going to send you into fits of rage and tears, then you need to find a new place to waste your life.

Lit is a reflection of the real world, with certain amplifications and buffers, and sometimes it smells like roses, and sometimes it stinks like shit. Deal with it or go somewhere else.

You make some good points above, and I think some of us (me) had a little confusion as to exactly what you were talking about, but then I can only base my answer on what you say.

Two more things:

1) Basically, I think your theory on ganging up is bunk. Some people deserve to get ganged up on. Standing up and waving a white flag and saying it's wrong ain't gonna stop it. People are people and they are going to have they're say, and if they are in the majority against someone, then tough patootie.

Why am I pissed? (well I'm not anymore) because most of us are listening to a fragment of an issue, the rest of it is private stuff, or on a bygone thread. It reminds me of Oliver North on trial, with some fuckhead whispering in his ear what to say. Same thing. I remember some poster getting her ass chewed by Lasher one time. Her response? Here's the story. Cheyenne has posted on the fake tits thread a link about Latina 2. This link takes you to another thread that shadowsource started. On 2 various political threads there were accusations made insinuating that shadowsource was a phony. I took issue with this, because I enjoy his posts and find him to be quite an amicable person. I think people take him the wrong way at times.

You missed the point. No one questions his ambicabilty. I'm sure that he is a nice guy and a lot of fun at a party, but he lied about his creditials to bolster his argument and got caught. That wouldn't be so bad except that he later tried to assume that all of us conservitives think the same thing and atribute ideas to us that we don't hold. I think that he is simply too lazy to read what we have posted in the past and find out what we really did say. I tend to take everyone at face value untill they prove differently. Shaddow baby has shown us that he is a lier and a fraud, so now anything that he posts in a serious thread will be discounted, at least by me.

Lavy, I usally disagree with you, but so far as I can see you are upfront about who and what you are. Your posts are clear and well thought out, and you are able to stick to the subject of an argument. I respect you and your opinions, but you deminish yourself by defending someone who is without integrity, simply because he happens to have the same general political leaning that you do.

I didn't see either of those, and you will have to look very hard to find me defending either of those two posters, even if they do come from the political right . I don't even try to read all of the posts that go up here, but I do make sure that I know what I'm talking about when I do post.

I don't think the post on that thread about Lucent was a slap in the face. I think he grouped Cheyenne into the category because she is a Republican. He was discussing the prominent Republicans on the board. I don't really understand how that warrants a desire to "uncover" some hidden reality. It was not meant malisciously even if it came across that way. I tend to like his posts. It has been nice to have another liberal poster around here these days. It always cracks me up when the conservatives on the board say they are outnumbered, because that is quite untrue.

Now, PC, my post was not about Latina. My posts were about trying to uncover people who are not complete frauds. Not on one post, but on two. What purpose does it serve? I'm sure there are individuals on the board who doubt things about me, doubt things about you, and doubt things about Cheyenne. That's just the way the cyber world works. However, it's not necessary for us to call them on EVERY minor detail. If they are glaringly obvious fraudulent claims that have serious effect for people on the board, that is another thing.

The only reason I brought up DMC is that we felt the need to uncover his identity. Some people want a clean start. They get off on a negative footing. Sometimes people get carried away on the board and feel the need for a fresh start. He is no longer around as far as I know.

Cheyenne, your vote is no, but can you not keep that to yourself? I mean I feel content knowing that I think many on this board have told little white lies. But I don't go around calling them on it. It's not necessary. It doesn't really effect my interaction with them in a cyber community. Even in real life I know that people can be full of shit. But I stand quietly resolved to disbelieve what they say. I don't make public statements about how they were full of shit when they made this comment. I think it only makes me look like a smaller person in the long run.

I have been mean to Todd at times. I have said that his cut & paste ways are annoying. But PC he put my name outside a thread about child molestation. That's far more serious than ANYTHING Latina or shadowsource have ever done. And yet, I have not ripped him a new one. In fact at times I'm quite amicable toward him. I think there is a valid difference. I never publicly criticized him for that except in passing. In fact I almost laughed it off, although I find it very offensive.

I think Siren went to bat with me on this issue. She's very loyal. If I'm upset she backs me up. It's almost a blind loyalty. It's a great thing to have. I'm just sorry I dragged her into this whole mess. In the end she got more shit than I did, and I started the fucking post. She said enough was enough. She wasn't trying to throw shit. I'm sorry Siren that you had to hear this when you were just trying to back me up.

I think we all need to consider our words before we say them. Every single one of us, I'm including myself. Words hurt. Words sting. This makes me sad. I wanted to defend someone and in the process I started a huge cat fight. Oh well, c'est la vie. I suppose I'm more of a defender than a prosecutor. And in the process of defending you sometimes have to prosecute someone else. Unfortunate that things work like that. That's kind of ironic since I'm hoping to do plaintiff's work.

If I were a lawyer, it is obvious I think that I would be a prosecutor. I hate lies, period. I don't have the same attitude that "this is just the way the cyberworld works." Anything you see me post here is true. My personal motto in RL is "don't lie, cheat, or steal." Pretty much any problem you face can be answered if you follow that simple rule. As Samuari said, I take people at face value until they give me a reason to distrust them. Shadowsource has. I didn't find it on my own, either. I had it pointed out to me by other board members in PMs. I never saw the post where he claimed to be a Wall Street vet or I would have mentioned it IN his 401(k) thread. At that point, I was still under the impression that he was a younger Goth kind of guy.

It may be a minor detail to you to have someone lie about their credentials in order to give their opinion more weight. It isn't to me. If it were minor to me, I wouldn't have pointed it out. Just a difference of opinion. Some things you think are very important on this board I blow right on by. We're different, and there's nothing wrong with that. UNTIL one of us tries to encourage the other to behave the way we want them to. It just won't work, I don't follow your code of what is important and what isn't.

(By the way, it is in three threads already, not two. You missed my comments in the p_p_man thread about his name's origin where I pointed out that a youngish sounding guy who is looking for a Goth name and avatar like Shadowsource most likely isn't a Wall Street veteran.)

It wasn't just the Lucent opening post, Lavy. Shadowsource also called me a communist. That is as irritating to me as it would be for me to call you a child molestor. He did other things, too. I still have a $100 reward offer to him to find a post where I said Social Security is a bad thing. He can't. I hate it when people put words in my mouth that I never said and I call them on it.

I'm not worried about Siren. We have battled before and it usually ends the same way. She tries to declare the discussion over with something like "nuff said" and I tell her to forget it. It is an old dance, she tries to control me, and I don't comply. In the end, she sends me a PM to say she respects me. (Well, not this time. Not yet anyway. ) I'm sure she is a good lawyer and I've said before I generally enjoy her posts here. The only time I bristle is when she tries to tell me what to do in any way, shape, or form. I'm that way in RL, too. I never have taken orders well.

So, no hard feelings here. But if you expect me to change my personal ethics to match yours in the future, it won't happen. We'll be arguing again. Kind of like the way I end up arguing with Siren every few months.

NSW's troll, I didn't crack the case. I told the troll when it was posting that I knew who it was and kind of gave it an ultimatum. It quit posting, so people assumed I knew who it was. I did have the same intuition as others on the board. I don't believe that I ever actually posted the trolls name on the board. I think several people had suspicions and it just came out.

By the way, I won't post the link here because I don't want to bring the thread back into sight. But, your memory is bad. You did say who was the NSW troll, by name. Not that you thought she was the troll, but that she was the troll. Coincidentally, it was in a thread where you were defending Siren.

Yes, I do think the liberals are outnumbered on the threads. If you will look at political threads it's mainly miles, UncleBill, PC, WD, Todd, OC (when he's around) and various others that come and go like Texan. The only liberals that post on a regular basis are ppman, shadowsource, me and Laurel when she enters political threads. Pyper sometimes chimes in. And onn other occasions various other people post. But on most political threads the usual political posters are more conservative.

ive read this thread all the way through i just wanted to add that i like just about everyone here ... people have things that annoy me slightly ... but then they have alot of good qualitys that they offer to the board ... its weird some seeing people i like argueing with people that i also like
