Now, most of you who know me know I have no kids. But I do in an indirect way. I have worked with kids with disabilities for more than ten years, and one of them has gone and grown up on me.

He just told me that he has moved into his own place where he has very limited assistance, and he gets his guide dog in two weeks.

He doesn't need me anymore *whinnnnnnnnneeeeeeeee*

LOL

I'm so revved!

Nah, I just played volleyball with him and stuff. This growing up thing and becoming an adult, he did all on his own. He even raised the money for the dog all on his own. I am very proud of him.

My sister who is 10 years younger then me had my 2nd grade teacher and 5th grade. so I went to my sister's open house, and I think my teacher was freaking out! Because I was from the first year she taught and I was in college.

(wow to think how bad my english is in this thread)

Now, now, Eumenides. Sometime the chick has to leave the nest. I know you're happy for him, even though you're all sad now. *hugs Emoodiekins*

I'm terribly happy for him. Not even sad, really. Just amazed. My obstacles are so insignificant in comparison. He's got Chutzpah! (I know i spelled that all wrong)

Forgive me, but you played volleyball with a kid about to get a guide dog?

What kind of cruel treatment is that?

He has Cerebral Palsy. You adapt the game to the disability. Sometimes you play floor volleyball...sometimes you use a beach ball...sometimes you guide their arms. That was my job.

That makes sense. But damned did it sound odd as I read the thread. Thats important work Eumenides, you should feel some pride in being part of a young man gaining some independence. :)

*chuckle* for some reason, when you said he was getting the dog, i assumed he was blind.

Blind volleyball.... you bully :p

Do that stuff, girl!

Those kids are just growin' up so darn fast these days. I think it's the TV.
