My Identity has been stolen, what do I do?

Help!

I Googled my name today and got a list of other sights I've never been on that are using my stories. I tried to click on the links and only got site of porn pictures. But in the search it has my name and pieces of 6 of my stories! One had my characters changed to young teen asians but it was all my words.

What do I do? I can't get to the actual story that it uses to describe the site in the search. When I tried I just got young teen pics stuff. I'm confused.

Can anyone tell me what do do?

Take the law into your own hands

Go to the site that stole your work. Click on 'source' in your 'view' menu and copy the page code as a plain text file. Then save all images to your hard drive. Do this with all their pages. If that's too much work, you can use programs like Web Whacker to copy the entire Web site with just a few clicks. Steal every piece of content they have. Change the name of the site to something you like and then load it up to your own Web space, linked to your own payment server. Then email them and tell them thanks for the free Web site.

Mr. Chambers. What a clever man you are. That sounds like a marvelous idea. I am unfortuantely very computer challenged and doubt my skill at doing it. That and their site shows bits of my stories in the description of the site but when I clicked on it it came up as porn pics so I don't knowwhat's going on.

I really like your idea though. Remind me to never cross you wrongly.

There are a couple of threads on this forum and on Story Feedback on the same subject. Outside of PMing Laurel, I don't know what else to do. If they are only using a few lines, there is probably nothing that can be done.

It happened to me, too, and they're using the whole story. And crediting me. But I never gave permission for this and in fact I had removed the story from my page months ago. I want them to pay me. Is that a pipe dream?
