My first story is online!

[Easy Boy]

Well, it's a big deal to me. Spent a month writing it, and another month in editing. (Much thanks. You know who you are.) Finally got up my nerve to submit it, then got to wait two weeks to see it show up. Here it is:

Well good on you. I hope all goes well for you. I bet you feel you have achived something, and so you should.

I'm terrified of submitting my work for you all to see, I just don't know how you will take what I have to write about. If I did, it would be under a name that none of you would know about.

Thanks, Nicole. Yes, I do feel good about it. Oddly, the story was quite erotic for me when I wrote it, and now it isn't. Oh well, on to other thrills, I guess.

As for your fear about people's reactions to your writing--I recommend the Volunteer Editors program. You can try out your writing on a very small audience. It was scary for me, even sending my work off to one person at a time. But I got some useful feedback, and some encouragement. By the time I actually submitted for publication, I felt pretty good about it. And I had a better story, too.
