And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Dixon has an av? I'm disappointed in you man. Tell me it's not a dolly with no hands, a come hither expression, and the exact same features as every other stupid dolly on the planet. Then I'll breathe. But not until then. Bear in mind, when I start going into convulsions, its your penis in my mouth, not the other way around.

Whoa. Just turned the av thingy on.

Just got one thing to say. Dix, your pic is reversed. This is... reversed. I think I'll turn the av thing back off now. Yep... off it goes. *whispering* the stars go on the left side....

Good avatar, though.

Sorry about that dolly remark, feel free to spank me.

DCL- you held out longer than I did on the avatar.

I couldn't NOT put one up last night. Just seemed like the correct thing to do.

Actually, Dixon's av is facing correct. They put a canvas backing on the flag to take the picture in 1873, so it only has one good face to show. It hangs in the Smithsonian at ninety degrees to that photo, stars up.

“Bring law-yers, guns, and money!………. the shit has, hit the fan”

I’m using that lyric in conjunction with the movie ‘Grand Canyon’. Very few (if any) will get the association. But I assure you – it’s appropriate.

Yes, the photo is correct. You'll also notice the proportions are strange, but they're standard for a Naval Flag, which Fort Banners were. The other side is not as "Readable" as the side that is usually displayed (though, at the moment, it is no longer on hanging display -- you can see it through glass lying down on an enormous table and watch while it is being cared for -- they are not restoring it, just caring for it so it won't degrade further.)

I've always found the other stanzas of the National Anthem stirring. The one above seems the most appropriate to the circumstances.

Excellent av, DCL.
And a most appropriate time to hoist one, as well.

You too, Chey.

Timing is everything, and both of you have it.

Wow……. hey man (DCL)………. was that a compliment? Now THAT I admire (not because it’s a compliment to me - but because it takes character (and knowledge - assuming you’ve seen ‘Grand Canyon’, And ‘get it’) to say so, for you, here.

I’ll be damned…….
(Then again, maybe you’re doing the soap thing and I totally failed to recognize it. Which means it was a damned good shtupping and you still deserve a salute!).

Hey, a mutual moment of understanding. Right on, man. That satisfies me.
My support to your career and your family. Better health, mon.

Those of you (‘Never’?) who have no idea what the fuck I’m talking about. Don’t worry about it. It’s old BB history. And it isn’t important.

I was referring to my own post, the one that began this thread, not yours.

You sent a great many psychotic, physically threatening e-mails to me and a host of others vowing to both track us down, reveal our real names, and to destroy Literotica. Nothing is "history". It's still important. And you're still a twat.

Maybe you could send this in to "Reader's Digest" as one of those "Boy was my face red!" stories.
