Favorite quote:

To laugh often and love much, to win the respect of intelligent persons and the
affection of children: to earn the approbation of honest critics: to appreciate beauty: to
give of one’s self; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have
lived-- that is to have success.
Harry Emerson Fosdick

(This is MY PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE. REVERIE)

“I don’t have enough words, but I want to wish to all of you: Try to find happiness in every day. At least once, smile to each other every day. And say just one extra time that you love the person who lives with you. Just say ‘I love you’. It’s so Great. So important.” Katia Gordeeva’s speech at Celebration of a Life, In honor of her late Husband and partner Sergei Grinkov.

“People must find ways to believe in themselves. To find something to live for. When everything feels broke inside, you have to get up from your knees and ask God for some help. You can have a life now.” ekaterina Gordeeva
(from the book Ekaterina Gordeeva by Anne Hill)

I've always wanted to be Anne of Green Gables!

“ I’d like to add some beauty to life,” said Anne dreamily. “I don’t
exactly want to make people know more -- though I know that is the noblest ambition -- but I love to make them have a pleasanter time because of me, to have some little joy or happy thought that would never have existed if I hadn’t been born.”

“I think you’re fulfilling that ambition every day,” said Gilbert
admiringly.

And he was right. Anne was one of the children of light by
birthright. After she had passed through a life with a smile or a word thrown across it like a gleam of sunshine, the owner of that life saw it, for the time being at least, as a hopeful and lovely place of good report.
ANNE OF AVONLEA by L.M Montgomery

“It might sound kind of esoteric, but I think wings are sexy. I bet if you walked outside and looked carefully at the people around you, you could immediately tell who has wings and who doesn’t. Wings are the essence of a person, and those who have them have qualities that I find sexy: confidence, forward motion, joy, desire and vibrancy. Wings are a life force, and people with wings want to participate in life and go beyond their limitations. When you have wings you want to go for it, no matter how crappy things might seem. The most appealing people to me are
those who go willingly into uncharted territory. Sometime my wings are folded, but I think I have them.” JULIA ROBERTs

“Yesterday is History. Tomorrow, who knows?” (Ilia Kulik, Prince of
blades)

“The only handicap in life is a bad attitude.”Scott Hamilton

“If you are five foot two, there’s nothing you can do about it. If you’re six-foot-four, there’s nothing you can do about it. If you’re a little heavy, there’s beauty in that, and if you’re meant to be thin, there’s beauty in that. That image of perfection we all aspire to applies, I think, to one in ten thousand people. And they’re the ones modeling all the clothes in the fashion magazines. I don’t think I’ve met a person who doesn’t have a list of things they have to deal with. My things just happen to be that I’m short and bald.” (from Scott Hamilton, Still Soaring)

“ It’s not if you fall down that matters, it’s how fast you get back
up.”Elvis Stojko, skating from the blade, by Linda
shaughnessy

“Luckily, being a perfect person isn’t a requirement for success of any kind. But being honest about your weaknesses is. There’s no way around it:if you want to do anything right, you first have to figure out what you’re doing wrong. that means making lots of mistakes- and learning to accept and understand them.”Michelle Kwan

Drinking Alone in the Moonlight
by Li Po (701-762)

Beneath the blossoms with a pot of wine,
No friends at hand, so I poured alone;
I raised my cup to invite the moon,
Turned to my shadow, and we became three.
Now the moon had never learned about drinking,
And my shadow had merely followed my form,
But I quickly made friends with the moon and my shadow;
To find pleasure in life, make the most of the spring.

Whenever I sang, the moon swayed with me;
Whenever I danced, my shadow went wild.
Drinking, we shared our enjoyment together;
Drunk, then we each went off on his own.
But forever we agreed on dispassionate revels,
We promised to meet in the far Milky Way.

Pilgrim, how you journey...on the road you chose
To find out why the winds die, and where the stories go

All days come from one day
That much you must know
You cannot

change what's over
But only where you go

One way leads to diamonds
One way leads to gold
Another leads you only
To everything you're told

In your heart you wonder
Which of these is true
The road that leads to nowhere
The road that leads to you

Will you find the answer in all you say and do?
Will you find the answer...in you?

Each heart is a pilgrim
Each one wants to know
The reason why the winds die
And where the stories go

Pilgrim, in your journey
You may travel far
For pilgrim it's a long way
To find out who you are...

Pilgrim, it's a long way...To find out who you are...

Pilgrim, it's a long way...To find out who you are...

When You Say Nothing at All
Ronan Keating
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fall
You say it best...when you say nothing at all
All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd (the crowd)
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine
CHORUS X 2
(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all...)
The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know that you need me...
CHORUS
(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all...)
The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know that you need me...
(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all...)

The Rose
by Bette Midler
Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you, it's only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dyin'
that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the winter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

The Love I Found In You
by Jim Brickman
You are the air I need I breathe
You are the river of life inside of me
You are the half that made me whole
You are the anchor of my soul
chorus:
You strong when I am weak
You are the words when I can't speak
You never fail to see me through
That's the love I found in you
You are my shelter from the storm
You are the road that leads me home
Baby, with you here face to face
I know I've found my place
(Sax solo)
Bridge:
Once in every life
You find the one that's right
When you say forever it's true
That's the love I found in you
chorus:
You strong when I am weak
You are the words when I can't speak
You never fail to see me through
That's the love I found in you

Your Song
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite
cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're
blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Words by E. Y. Harburg, Music by Harold Arlen

When all the world is a hopeless jumble,
and the raindrops tumble all around,
heaven opens a magic lane.
When all the clouds darken up the skyway,
there's a rainbow highway to be found,
leading from your window pane,
to a place behind the sun,
just a step beyond the rain.

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high,
there's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue,
and the dreams that you dare to dream,
really do come true.

Someday, I'll wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
away above the chimney tops,
that's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow,
why then, oh, why can't I?
If all those little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow,
why, oh why, can't I?

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love.

by Christopher Marlowe

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove,
That valleys, groves, hills and fields,
Woods or steepy mountains yields.

And we will sit upon the rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses,
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool,
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair-lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my love.

The shepherd swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning;
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

The Rainbow Connection
Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and
answered
When wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it,
And look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

All of us under its spell,
We know that it's probably magic...

... Have you been half asleep? And have you heard
voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
... Is this the sweet sound that calls the young
sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm s'posed to be...
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

Some enchanted evening

You may see a stranger,
You may see a stranger
Across a crowded room,
And somehow you know
You know even then
That somewhere you'll see her
Again and again

Some enchanted evening
Someone may be laughing
You may hear her laughing
Across a crowded room,
And night after night
As strange as it seems,
The sound of her laughter
Will sing in your dreams.

Who can explain it
Who can tell you why,
Fools give you reasons,
Wise men never try.

Some enchanted evening
When you find your true love,
When you feel her call you
Across a crowded room,
Then fly to her side
And make her your own,
Or all through your life
You may dream all alone.

Once you have found her
Never let her go.

Once you have found her
Never let her go

When We Two Parted
by Lord Byron (1788 - 1824)
When we two parted/ In silence and tears,/ Half broken-hearted/ To sever the years,/ Pale grew thy cheek and cold,/ Colder, thy kiss;/ Truly that hour foretold/ Sorrow to this./ The
dew of the morning/ Sunk, chill on my brow,/ It felt like the warning/ Of what I feel now./Thy vows are all broken,/ And light is thy fame;/ I hear thy name spoken,/ And share in its
shame./ They name thee before me,/ A knell to mine ear;/ A shudder comes o'er me.../Why wert thou so dear?/ They know not I knew thee,/ Who knew thee too well../ Long, long shall I rue thee,/ Too deeply to tell./ In secret we met/ In silence I grieve/ That thy heart could forget,/ Thy spirit deceive./ If I should meet thee/ After long years,/ How should I greet thee?/ With silence and tears.

No Coward Soul is Mine by Emily Bronte

No coward soul is mine/ Not trembler in the world's storm-troubled sphere/ I see Heaven'ts glories shine./ And Faith shines equal arming me from Fear/ O god within my breast/ Almight ever-present Deity/ Life, that in me hast rest/ As I undying Life, have
power over Thee/ Vain are the thousand creeds/ That move men's hearts, unutterably vain,/ Worthless as withered weeds/ Or idlest froth amid the boundless main/ To waken
doubt in one/ Holding so fast by thy infinity/ So surely anchored on/ The steadfast rock of Immortality/ With wide embracing love/ Thy spirit animates eternal years/ Prevades and
broods above/ Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates and rears/ Though Earth and moon were gone/ And suns and universes ceased to be/ And thou wert left alone/ Every Existence would exist in thee/ There is not room for Death/ Nor atom that his might could render void/ Since thou art Being and Breath/ And what thou art may never be destroyed.
