The military has contacted me and has requested my resume etc. They have an opening that they feel I am best suited for based on reputation and hearsay :D

I was just chatting with a friend and referred to it as a "submissive heaven" working in the military with all the protocol and pomp and circumstance.

My supervisor would be a Major and I would be reporting directly to the General in charge of hte base.

Yummy!

What other jobs or situations might subtley fill that need to serve?

I haven't met a female police officer or nurse yet who didn't want to be spanked.

Teachers are split down the middle.....1st grade teachers are my faves.

I found being a secretary very fulfilling. It's service oriented, I wanted to please my boss and he was in control of what I did and when I did it to a major extent.

Not only that, but this sort of quasi-mate status often develops between bosses and their secretaries after a certain amount of time. You become privy to their personal lives through making medical appointments for them, balancing their personal and professional calendars and reading and reacting to their moods based on the level of stress in their lives at any given moment.

I think in any work situation, isn't being a good employee comparable in some ways to being a "good sub?"

Mmm, boy, I'd like to have Miss T working for me ...

I agree MissT. A good work ethic is all that matters, no matter what you're doing.

:D

Well, you might have to let me out from under the desk periodically to justify my salary!

;)

Seriously, I am a good employee and know when not to argue, when to take a direction regardless of what I think.

Hmmm perhaps I am a bit submissive in the work place?

:D

Yes, Ruby.

Give 150 percent and expect the same back?

I like the sound of that!

You and I think very much alike. :)

You aren't really thinking of going into the military are you?

I'm not complaining and am totally supportive of your assertion (above).

My HO is that since about 1980, women have struggled with integrating Equal Rights with the Nature of Gender Differences; and I think that after twenty years of "hostilities" in the Gender Warz the pendulum is settling in to a better place nowadays.

I'm also happy to see this change from your tune of a few months ago regarding submissive women embracing their submissiveness in their lives generally (remember all the heat that was sent my way by various folks?...ahem.).....methinks the NewGuy in your life has been a good development! (that's often all it takes!)

Cheers;

Lance

OH no!

Just working for them as a civilian.

:)

No, ma'am. I am not enlisting ;)

Lance?

I do think today's women have to deal with an internal conflict, if they were reared in a traditional family setting with traditional values.

NO! I am not saying all women are submissive or anything like that, but the drive for hte last 20 years has been for women to be successful, over achievers as well as wonder moms.

For some , actually many, it works.

Then, there are the June Cleavers of the world who really want family and that traditional power exchange. HE makes the rules, lays down the law and brings home the bacon. SHE sees to his comfort and the management of the home and daily affairs.

For me, it is a mixed bag. As a single mom, I have to work. I did the executive bit, complete with business suits, heels and bitch red lipstick. I hated it.

But I do have to work.

And geesh, this job just feels so right.

(Yes, the new guy is a good one.)

I would also like to add to MissT's most eloquent post that some men today expect for their wives to work, regardless of how capable they themselves are of being the sole provider, or if they have children at home or not.

Lance, it's not a popular opinion, but I agree with you. I've always felt that things were easier when gender roles were more clearly defined. However, I also believe that we, the sexes, have learned a lot about each other in the last 40 odd years, and that has been invaluable.

It's a good thing.

Well, it is the truth, I can think of plenty to do, and none of it could be called work.

I would however do some volunteering.

I think there is lots of room to be equals, yet different.

But I really like the "interlocking parts" feature best.

Ha, not for any of the jobs I’ve had.

Gender

On the wider issue of gender difference then I agree in general with the thoughts above. There often does seem to be a conflict between the natural desire(s) and being told to be and act equal. In reality I believe we should work with our differences and salute them rather than try and create sexless clones as it were.

I rather like Lance's interlocking parts bit as a way of describing it...speaking in the wider sense and not just sexually.

As far as dream job is concerned...well my actual job is pretty good. I get to work with nubile young ladies wearing skin tight breeches and knee length boots....and I am the guy who tells them what to do !!...ok, ok...binding them and spanking them would soon get me "drummed out of the brownies"...but a guy can dream, can't he ??

Downside...I also have to work with old male farts with bad attitude ! (but not very often. Yippee !!)

A Massage Therapist - if you're into pleasing people with your hands

;-) a blow job

for a Dom:

A college professor

A fitness instructor

For a sub?

Working on a horse farm.

The smell of all the leather and the enticing notions when bits are in place.....

A submissive friend of mine is working on a horse farm in serious horse country.

The owner gave her a horse named, "Sir."

We chuckled as he had no idea what "Sir " meant to my friend in terms of BDSM

*smirks*

Hey RubyFruit, when you were a secretary, did you ever have sex with any of your bosses?

How funny, Miss T. I used to work on a horse ranch, and yes, it was submissive heaven. All the leather, whips (i never saw one used on any of the horses, they just hung on the stables enticingly), the saddle stands (i imagined being bent over one, en pointe, and whipped in the barn). *Sigh.* I really miss that place.

bumping

Well, five months later and the job is finally being advertised!

I submitted my resume yesterday and am crossing my fingers.

Even though the clinic wants me, there is some army red tape to get through in the hiring process. I can't stand the wait.

All joking aside, this is a very important event for me in terms of my personal life.

I am unabashed in my requests for prayers or good wishes.

:)
