My cat, Neko may have to be put to sleep...

got up this morning, and my cat was limping around like he'd broken his leg... Took him to the vet, and got him exrayed. It turns out it wasn't a broken leg, but perhaps an electric shock that messed his nerves up, but they also found that his lungs were full of fluid and that his heard was the size of a fist...

He might have an untreatable case of heart desease...

It was horrible seeing him like that, he was trying to walk around, and he was panting, and meowing in pain. Just horrible... I would have totally lost it if it had been Salem...

From the symptoms, I know what it is. My "kid" has the same thing. But his heart is not that big. The disease can be treated, but it requires meds for the rest of his life, and constant watching.

I'm so sorry, Ravenloft. It's tough making a decision like that. I haven't owned my own pet in a while, but I have in the past. I once owned a cat, Gandolf was his name. He got a rare kind of cancer that caused him a lot of pain. I remember agonizing over him for a long time.

Wow, thank you all.

We picked him up today, his leg was still limp, but his lungs and heart were looking better... So he might have just stepped in a puddle of water near an electrical cord and given himself a zap...

If its his heart still, my mom has already made the decision to have him put to sleep, cause the one case would only give him a couple more weeks to live, and the other, even with medication, would only give him a year and a half...
