I got my most recent story back from my beta reader this morning. He got up early to get it back because I'm trying to get this in for the Halloween contest. I really appreciate that.

That ending...

I've spent the last half hour trying to figure out how I feel about it. It feels like a classic black-and-white psychological thriller a la Hitchcock,et al. It's also why I don't like psychological thrillers as a rule, it's totally ambiguous.... Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go obsess about that fucking ending some more...
