Hehe! Today was a bad day for Mae...decided to go out and wrap the peace of nature around me for a bit. Clear cold day (about 20 degrees), no other people around...stunning. Thought I'd share. Although my spirit still longs to be closer to the ocean, the Black Hills have their own beauty for sure!

*hugs*
Mae

It was so silent today, not even bird call. Sitting, peaceful, letting the earth comfort me and take my tears...

Another, hope some folks here still enjoy other scenery :)

The sun was hanging low in the sky, the lake's chill was seeping into my bones...

OOoh, in case you were wondering...it's a place called Sylvan Lake, on the Needles Highway right outside Custer State Park :)

Beautiful pics Mae. I'd love to visit that area, looks peaceful and relaxing.

And....

For those of you expecting OTHER beautiful hills....here you go too :)

*hugs*
Mae

Or....

Perhaps this is more what you were envisioning!

Mae
I love places like that, I haven't seen ice on a lake like that since I went into the Navy in 76, Thank you for bringing back some good memories.

Mae wish I would have been able to see that with you today and offer you some companionship and shoulder for the tears. The other hills are lovely as always. Thank you for sharing.

Now those last two pics are more what I thought would be here, but either way I liked what I saw. (though I like the last two pics better)

Love it..

As incredibly beautiful as you are Mae...I'm going to throw my vote in on the black hills. I've always loved that area. Not that I don't love every bit of you I've ever seen, too.

Your spirit is strong

Love to see your posts. I know that work has been trying you lately. I am glad that you know where to turn to times of stress. Nothing like a day alone with mother earth to remind ourselves of the insignificance that we define as our problems.

Stellar pictures, I can feel the dry cold air! The frozen ground crunching underfoot. Each frozen breath revitalizing. The quiet landscape soothing and nuturing the soul.

I hope the outing revitalized you. From the look of the last posts you left, I assume you were feeling much better. *wink*

Lotsa Love,

A

Mae your photography draws on many emotions. They are very very good.
The last two draw out emotions making me want to be so very very bad!

Mae,
Thank you for sharing these with us!
They convey so well, the utter peace and quiet of the place.
That's why I love winter mornings so much....the silences.

They took me away to that place....thank you!
:)

We have a Sylvan Lake here in Central Alberta. But I must concede that your Sylvan Lake looks much more beautiful!
