The ability to mute a forum and/or a thread. A button would be nice

The amount of hate speech and bullying is increasing. This is especially true in the politics forum and a few others as well, where hate speech and bullying goes unpunished especially if the user has been on Literotica for a long while.

If hate speech and bullying does not matter to the site owners, we users should have the opportunity to mute such hate. Free speech would still be free speech

Add the thread starters to your Ignore list and their threads will not appear when you are logged in. Most of the PB posters stay or primarily post in the PB, so this will effectively eliminate the forum for you.

How about ignoring the forum itself? Or must one manually add each thread to the ignore list? This also doesn't stop people participating in those threads from PMing you, even if you add them individually to the ignored list.

Seems like a lot of work when this issue can be fixed simply, permanently and quickly from the back end.

As always, this is my opinion and YMMV

Also, having been a member here for more than 2 decades, I am not aware of people complaining that random folks from the Politics Board are sending unsolicited PMs. I suppose that could happen, but the overwhelming majority of unsolicited PMs are from HNGs and directed at members with female sounding usernames. And much of those disappear by not appearing online.

I doubt any significant forum changes are coming any time soon. Once upon a time, I added several thread starters in the GB to my ignore list and it changed the whole forum. The process took just a few minutes, too.

And I am just suggesting that the back end be fixed. After all that's the purpose of this thread (reporting bugs and asking for new features), isn't it?

I don't think the amount of time time that someone is on Literotica should matter.

I only mentioned the amount of time because you stated that putting thread starters ignore is “a lot of work.” It’s not. And it would result in no longer seeing the threads. I don’t think it’s likely that the changes you’re asking for will be made, but yes this is the right place to make the suggestions.

It is a lot of work considering the amount of new threads that appear in any forum on a daily basis, so you have to manually ignore each new thread every day. And when it comes to the political forum, the amount of hate speech is over the top.

My point, fix the problem and not put the workarounds on our backs.
