hey, I was just wondering what type of music everyone on the bb likes to listen to, and if you have any suggestions for some good music.

Check out "The Clarks" at http://www.clarksonline.com/ . Without a doubt this is the finest rock band that no one has ever heard of (I know Wizard can back me up on this one). Their new cd hits stores a week from today.

Btw, Wizard, have you ever seen them at Nick's Fat City on wednesday nights when they do their "Dick Clarks" shows?? That's good stuff, lol.

My own taste is eclectic, but right now I am revisiting the late, great Janis; I'm listening to "Piece of My Heart" as I type.

Speaking of The Clarks... I'm feeling generous today and thought I'd share something with ya, Roger. I'd send ya the MP3 of this, but I think you're computer might not be up to that sort of thing, from what I understand. Anyways, these are the lyrics from a song, by The Clarks, about your favorite pesky rock icon...

Courtney

Everyone's gonna look at me, confounded by my decency
I've got no tales of personal tragedy
Everyone's gonna know my name, they'll talk about my new found fame
Alluding to my functional family

She said she liked a simple melody
She brought me onstage for a bow
I stood there laughing, all I said was, "Wow!"
Courtney Loves me now

Now my friends they all want to know, is this for real or is it just a show
They're taking bets on when I'm history
All her friends are gonna tell her things, shared apartments, diamond rings
And how that car phone's an absolute necessity

She said she liked the way I kissed her cheek
She brought me upstairs, grabbed a towel
I stood there laughing, all I said was, "Wow!"
Courtney Loves me now

Courtney's fond of telling me, I'm everything she used to be
Bridget Fonda's telling her, let's go for steaks baby, you could wear your fur

Then I'll ask to have her hand, and hold it as she quits the band
She whispers playfully you can open up for me
Buy a house, maybe hit the road, share a joint, maybe share the load
And laugh about our plans they're history

She said she liked the way I licked her feet
She brought me upstairs, showed me how
I stood there laughing, all I said was, "Wow!"
Courtney Loves me now

(btw, these lyrics are copyrighted sometime in the last few years by King and Mouse Records. And are used without permission to blatantly promote a band that deserves to be heard)

Lasher,Nick's Fat city rules man I still try to make it to the South Side once a month to see who ever .
Norman plays at excuses alot , the wife and I enjoy his shows too .

The clarks kick ass and I was going to say about the new CD also but ya bet me too it, I hear it is going to be great.

And I'm NOT kissing ASS but your right man ,there great, true Pittsburgh there.

Well, being something of a geezer now, I don't really get into going to Nick's on weekends UNLESS something special is going on (I was there one of the 2 nights when Donnie Iris was recording his live disc). But I love going on weeknights...no crowds and cheap beer!

Only thing I'm disappointed with about the new Clarks disc is that they're gonna be touring all summer and there ain't gonna be no Dick Clarks shows till fall.

Last time we were there was about 3 weeks ago when Bill Deasy from Gathering Field was playing (also a Wednesday night)... We actually sat at the bar and could see the stage... My wife only had to tell 2 guys the whole night to get the fuck out of our way...

I must say I have an extremely ecclectic taste in music, I like pretty much anything from Metallica to Nat King Cole, but I'd recommend the following newer artists.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (well, it's really the punk rock band NoFX doing covers, or at least some of the band)

Better Than Ezra (these guys are from New Orleans, and I have to say they are just about my favorites. I own everything they've ever recorded)

Collective Soul (another band from Athens, GA that kicks ass. They have a great sound. I recommend their album DOSAGE)

The Corrs (a family from Ireland, a brother and three sisters. great pop sound.)

Maev (okay, if you're into traditional Celtic music, you'll love her)

The String Cheese Incident (ecclectic on their own, they are an instrumental group that does everything from blue grass to classical)

That's all for now...

LMAO...that's why they have that "virgin" tag, Nurse. If they knew what they were doing, well....

And I just took the opportunity to kick out some spam for a band I really think deserves a little spam...

So be gentle Nurse...and make sure they're properly lubricated.

Nurse,
Perhaps some of us haven't been visiting this site as long as you have, and I for one certainly don't intend to do research before I reply to a thread.

I'm assuming eating pussy and anal sex have been written about before as well, not to mention incest and pubic hair (oops, I just did  ). I couldn't care less if the question or subject has been "beat to death" (it's beaten, btw).

So, if you think it's been done before and it doesn't interest you, then I suggest you don't read it. It probably IS a waste of your time. Same thing goes for the movie thread.

If I were you, I'd probably feel the same way, but I wouldn't use any more precious moments of my life responding to these redundant threads. It's not worth it. I'd simply use my little mouse and mosey on to the next subject.

Besides, I'm just responding to threads to get rid of that "virgin" after my name. :)

Sincerely (and hopefully with no ill feelings, nurse),
k.
