I am in a pissy mood, no particular reason, just grrrr

I burned a CD a while back for just such occasions, although I didn't realize it at the time.

The first few songs are very heavy. The words don't really matter, it's the beat. Drowning Pool - Bodies is first and the songs get more mellow through the course of the CD. I listen to just about all genres of music so it is very diverse, I even threw some Country in there. I think the last song is Follow Me- Uncle Kracker.

I get in my car (alone, that's important), pop the disk in the stereo and drive. By the time I have listened to the entire CD I am in a much better mood.

I was just wondering......am I weird, or do you do this too? Does the music you are listening to affect your mood?

Hell yes.

Most definitely! Actually (as are so very many things in this world of life and relationships) I think that music and mood is a two-way street. That is to say that as often as I choose a style of music to fit my mood, there are also many times when certain songs will change or affect my mood as well. I have even been known to use music to help my mood as you spoke of Naughty. Typically I listen to a harder fast drivnig beat in the morning to help wake up, and sometimes put in some Otis or Van Morrison to help soothe the nerves on the drive home.

Don McLean wrote "Can music save your mortal soul?" Well I'm not sure about the soul, but it can sure as shit save my mind.

music

always helps my mood, ecpecially when i am really pissed off about something!! i generally just go to my shop or take a drive and listen to oldies!!then after about 30 or 45 minutes i am in a better mood, so no i don't think you are the only one that does this!!!

Well said. Music and comedy, the ultimate over-the-counter mind altering drugs.
