Music swap

I've been thinking about music alot lately (and esp after the weekend), and I know alot of share songs with each other. Is it possible (re: legal and/or feasible) to start some kind of swap thread? Like if there's a song you want, you can post that you're looking for it and someone can volunteer to give you a copy? And on like that. It seems like a great idea, but I'm sure there's some kind of flaw with it. So...thoughts?

Well, now that we know how to convert, that part should be easy. I just wonder if there's something inherently wrong with the idea that I'm overlooking.

It's perfectly possible and there is a music sharing thread on another part of the Lit boards, but as for the legality of it, well, I believe technically it would depend upon the specific song, but the safe assumption would be that it isn't technically legal.

Not that stops anyone anyway.

Well, that's true. I file share all the time. I just don't publicize it, typically. So, then, the question is- is there enough interest here to do it?
