As for the music, I like it, but I don't subscribe to the belief that anything that's popular inherently sucks. I know a lot of people who are scratching Jimmy Eat World off their listen list because "The Middle" became a hit.

My recommendation: Orange Rhyming Dictionary by Jets To Brazil.

Yuck! I hate whining and I hate it more when it tries to be punk. These guys make Emo Phillips look like Charles Bronson.

I like songs about getting laid, not about over contemplation of the navel and why can't people like me.

Jimmy Eat World & Sunny Day Real Estate are quite fine. The Get Up Kids are emo gods.

Look up Death Cab For Cutie...they don't disappoint. More of an indie rock sound to me, but they get the "emo" label often. They've been on heavy rotation for me since last year's SXSW.

Speaking of emo, I recently saw Dashboard Confessional (whom I love no matter how much play they get on the radio) and they kicked ass. Definitely a great live band, so everyone - if they come to your town, go see them.
