i think most everyone has at least one albumn that either they would prefer that people didn't know they listen to or that nobody would even suspect you of enjoying.

what's normal music for you? what music suprises people when they see that you have it?

my "normal" music:
Nine Inch Nails, KoRn, Metallica, Staind, Godsmack, Manson, Rammstein, etc.

albumns people are suprised to know that i own:
Sting-Brand New Day, Michelle Branch-The Spirit Room

Judging from my green hair, tattos, peircings, clothing choices, one would never guess I love Sarah McLachlan, Sixpence None the Richer, 60's R&B, and dammit...I enjoy some Britney Spears...

Mostly the body her voice comes out of..

Since my musical tastes gravitate towards the type scylis listed listed people are suprised when they find out I listen to the Beach Boys, Phil Collins/ Genesis, and REM frequently.

Typically I'm more of the Staind, Systematic, Lost Prophets, Hoobastank, Nickelback..type person...but then as you scroll my cd rack you find...

Yanni- The tribute album...actually went to see him in concert :)

skitch

My usual taste runs along the lines of Simon & Garfunkle, Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin, Led Zepplin.

You might be suprised to see my latest batch... System Of A Down, and Disturbed.

Ive become so jaded.

I don't haave a usual type of music.most everyone knows not to (or has given upthe idea of) try & pigeon hole me or my tastes.
I like everything from Latin pop, Roc en español, alternative, ska, punk, country, old jazz (1920's-40's), R&B, "oldies", whatever.
I gues the one cd no one would ever guess I had would be the one on celtic bagpipes.
What can I say. I quirky.

Well, I listen to just about everything thats been listed here...except the country stuff...
Cant stand country, lol.
Bunch of guys whining about their women leaving them, their dogs dying..blah blah blah

You know that's what I thought about 2 years ago before I started listening to it. They're mainly lovesongs though. Really beautiful. Besides the cd covers with cowboys in skintight jeans doesn't hurt either

I have this thing for Kenny Rogers.

There.
I said it out loud and now i feel MUCH better.

I have this weird thing for Nina Simone. I think I secretly desire to be a Black Panther and hang out in Chicago.

I've never heard of her.

But i just wanna say that uh,if i was gonna do a chick, you'd be one of the first on my list.

After Lavvy,Alex and MC.

You,

Are a babe.

But you knew that already.;)

Everyone is surprised when they find The Corrs CDs and 98 Degrees in my collection.

I would be in excellent company if I was on that list. You are pretty babish to you know.

With my musical taste I think my friends would be surprised to see some Hawaiian groups in my collection ... considering that I listen to all kinds of stuff from NIN to Secret Garden to Mozart to Benny Goodman.

Of course it depends on the friend that is looking at my collection. :D

I'm in Scyllis's category pretty much.

My bizarre ones include ABBA, the Bee-Gees, classical a lot, Moody Blues, and oriental.

Arc - you're just a freak ;) Nice AV, though...

It's hard for me to say that anything I listen to doesn't fit into my "normal" category, because if I own it, it's normal to me... I guess my friends were pretty surprised to find out I listen to Slipknot (their first album only, so far -- second album sucked ass). I tend to listen to that kind of music though; not quite that heavy, but I'm a total rocker chick at heart, even though I really don't look it. People might also be surprised to find Sting's "Brand New Day" and the soundtrack to "Moulin Rouge" in my collection, but that's probably about it.

Well for a guy into hard rock and heavy metal the strangest cd in my collection would have to be Rod Stewart.(oh the shame)
