In the late 80s and early 90s... there was a huge dance/techno thing that happened.... I have this stupid story going on that incorporates music from that time period....however I am having a horrible time remembering the names of the groups/bands.....

I know more then just myself survived this time period in music... I would love some help remembering some of the bands and groups..... there was a couple in particular that were really popular but I cannot for the life of me remember who they were....

Ugh... help please.

As a huge pop culture buff :D what do you wanna know? 88 in LA, all they ever sickeningly played were Guns and Roses, Samantha Fox and oh, the alternative Robbie Robertson, I recall distinctly. It really depends on where you were, and no offence, but if in the US? The plethora of bands in those years were limited compared to the world, and having recently travelled, the US is still stuck on hill-billy radio stations. It seriously depends on state to state, though. :)

Any time. I enjoy using my youth as a conversation piece while it's still there :D.

If it makes you feel any better, I'd've put you of an age with me from your avatar (21).

New Order was huge on the techno scene, but not sure if that was early 90's or not.

I have no idea....

I remember towards the end of the 80s there was the HORRIFYING metal thrash metal all metal for like two years.... I wanted to beat myself until I couldn't hear anymore....

I know the feeling. A few months ago I was on IM with a girl I met online, (she was actually a fan of my stories if you can believe that). She was about 19. At some point we were talking about music and for some reason I mentioned Huey Lewis and the News....

... she had never heard of them. I felt sooooo old.

Elizabeth, New Order did some of the music in the first Blade movie....very techno-punk. It'd be worth a look-up, anyway.

:D Snickering into my beard,

I'm surrounded by children tonight.

Any of you kids want to find out what they mean by snow on the roof and a fire in the stove?
