Is it me or does it seem as if every major professional league, when planning their halftime entertainment seem to give the job to the dumbest person in the office?

The NFL's biggest fan base is white men aged 18-54. So who should play the super bowl? N'Sync and Britney of course.

The NBA is bigger among a younger, urban audience? And who screams young and urban more than Elton John?

Don't even get me started on the NHL.

You missed the superbowl this year, I take it.

Yeah. The one day of the year I have to be sick.

From what I gather though it wasn't that much better. U2 is a better call I guess, but Barry Manilow?

Barry Manilow? When did he play?

Hey, at least they're trying to be a little cool with U2.

yeah but they were trying to be "cool" with Britney and Aerosmith. And every time they had a crowd shot it was 70,000 football fans looking bored out of their skulls.

Well who would you like to see up there. You know that all the brainless little no talent ass clowns in the music business now will put their poster children everywhere. The name of the game is sell till you've whore'd them out then move on. The downside is we as the consumer are always put through the horror of having to live with these idiots on the radio, television, and movies for the next couple of decades.

I'll daresay the average sports fan would be bored by any kind of artistic display.

And I'm grateful that the inverse isn't common - a brief wrestling match between the stage crewmen during a play's intermission, for example.
