Is there anyone else out there who associates certain songs or pieces of music with certain people?

I'm not talking about something you may have listened to once when you were around that person and associated it with them ever since - I'm talking about an almost subconscious association.

It could be that there's something in the lyrics that makes you think of that person, or something about the tune that you feel reflects the person's character.

At the moment, whenever I see my boss I hear the Wicked Witch of the West music off The Wizard of Oz. I didn't even realise it until I found myself humming it when she walked past me today.

As it happens, she is a real bitch.

She shouted at me a couple of days back in front of several kids (I'm a teacher), and today she refused to give another teacher 3 hours off next week to go and take her sick kid to see a specialist.

So all in all, I'm quite pleased with the little parallel my brain drew. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

Whenever I hear "It's just a little Crush." I think of my sister, because she is the queen of crushes.

Brimful of Asha reminds me of my mum, for one line and one line only "Everybody needs a bosom." She' kind of lacking in that department *laughing*

I smile in a big way when I hear "He's A tramp" from the Disney film, as it never fails to remind me of my husband *grins*

I could think of plenty more, if i put my mind to it to :)

LOL, I am not Ally McBeal. I associate songs with either people or moments, never as they walk toward me does "Ding dong, the witch is dead"come to mind. LOL as much as I love it, lol, it is not something I immediately associate with a person. Bitch or ass hole is usually fine. Why ruin a good song?

You're a show tune girl, aren't you? ;)

Gotta agree with Charley on that one...never wasted a good or bad song on someone for that moment..but damn that was funny

mmmmyep.

A couple of months ago i was looking through the old cds and found a Deana Carter one. About the time the song 'Did I Shave My Legs For This' came on, the resident asshole (husband) walked in the door. It stuck.

Snickering.

The other day my wife stepped out of the shower and started getting dressed. It was warmish out and we had no power. She pulled on a pair of cut off jeans she had stolen from me and a Bikini Top. While she was doing this the song Red Neck Woman came on. I immediately linked it to her.

A couple of days later we were driving home from the dentist where she had a Root Canal performed. (I may have to visit this dentist they did a great job with the minimum of pain.) I had just reached over to fondle a breast, and maybe distract her a bit from the little bit of discomfort she was feeling when I hit a Pot Hole which caused her jaws to slam closed. She immediatly slammed her fist down on my leg. The funniest part was right after that the song Bitch came on the radio. Both of us looked at each other and started laughing.

Not always show tunes ;) It depends on the person. I once had a crush on a woman with with long, red, corkscrew hair down to her waist, who happened to play the saxophone. I never heard her play, but I still hear the opening bars of Rhapsody in Blue whenever I see her.

Today I'm actually doing the deed and handing over my letter of resignation. My boss is likely to blow a fuse, so I have a nasty feeling that as I'm doing it I'll be hearing the incidental music to Psycho going off in my head....

If you don't hear from me again, you'll know why.

Thanks for the responses anyway, folks. Glad I'm not the only one who suffers from musical moments

Glad I'm not the only one who has soundtrack.

I have two friends who happen to be engaged to each other. There was a song a while back by a band I don't know. It was a rocker band singing about how they hated and loved this chick, I hear the music but can't think of it at the moment.

She Fucking Hates Me usually runs through my head when my wife and I are having a stint.

I know I have more but it is hard to think about other music with headphones on.

Yeah... but it's only porn music.
