A more mature, sensible approach that treats governing as serious business, not as another form of entertainment, for instance. And doesn't think that science is a bad word. Doesn't think that teaching creationism and abstinence-only are good public policy. Doesn't take anti-vaxers and climate science deniers any more seriously than you would take the tabloids.

Just for a start.

So nothing specific with regard to actual policy changes or political reforms.

You just don't like what some old republicans are about.

Got it.

That was very specific. And it was just a start. Society needs massive change, serious transformation toward a social democracy, to be more blunt. Education has been slashed like crazy, science and tech as well, not to mention infrastructure, all to put more money back into the already deep pockets of the very rich. If that isn't wrong, nothing is.

With reguard to what you think (R)'s think yes.

But not with the structural/policy changes of the US Government.

And how do you define "social democracy" what exactly does that mean to you?

Education has been slashed like crazy, science and tech as well, not to mention infrastructure, all to put more money back into the already deep pockets of the very rich. If that isn't wrong, nothing is.

BACK into the pockets....because it's theirs to begin with.

Why should they invest in a TERRIBLE education system?

Infrastructure? Nobody gives a fuck...that's an excuse to raise taxes and make that money vanish with nothing to show for it.

You left leaning posters use that term frequently. Is that to demonstrate your hatred of the USA? And will you stop using it when there is a democrat in the White House? :)

I guess this wouldn't be one of those political threads started by someone on the GB that you criticized doing on another thread, right?

For a short period during the Obama administration the left was actually smiling and feeling good about the promise of OB reinstating Kennedy's Camelot here on earth. They were having parties, friending republicans on Facebook, and digging on the economy.

Maybe their respect for America is merely group think in support of a dem White House....:)

It's.gotta.come.from these young people (millennials)...it's to fucking hard for them to say a proper word anymore.

Dear old fart...

The most incomprehensible accents I've heard have always been in the elderly. Regional accents, undiluted by an upbringing that travelled beyond their own town. Half words, gutteral grunts, words used only in that area (and never appear in any dictionary).

But darn those whipper snappers!

internationally, most laypeople around me used to love lay-Americans & despise American politicians.

unfortunately, I've seen people (who never traveled, nor met any American ever) start to despise lay-Americans as a principle.

Based on what they read in mainstream press.

America is a Latin name beginning and ending with a vowel. The part of the nation that continues speaking English will probably drop at least one vowel on the way to becoming other nations. Some regions may blend English and Spanish to make a new language.
