does any one think it would be acceptable to do a piece in a multiple personality sub..if so,any suggestions on acceptable age of personality #2,and would n e one be intrested in reading something like this?

I would like the idea of a multiple personality story. Goody two shoes wife, mother, churchgoer who doesn't know what her other personalities are doing. One could be a prostitue, one a sub, etc.

It may not be, pyschologically speaking, that realistic, but have a woman's multiple personalities, as discussed, take on different sexual stereotypes - the nymph/slut, oppressed librarian, the vanilla suburban housewife, the leather biker domintrix.... might be a challenge to write, but could be quite an interest journey into different sexualities all expressed in one.

My initial reaction was, it's too unreal, instances of that disorder are extremely, extremely rare.

However, coming at it from a literary perspective I think it could be a great way to explore different aspects of one persons personality and certain erotic archetypes.

In my own personal opinion, my interest in such a story would be what personalities the author chooses and how they portray them. Is this just an excuse for a very typical male fantasy? Is there something interesting to be said about the dichotomy of the housewife turned slut?

My very limited understanding of this disorder is that its usually the result of some significant trauma. Maybe the woman has some extraordinary desire to express herself sexually (past life she was as a priestess of Aphrodite or something ), but because of an extremely conservative social environment she is in, she must repress these desires so deeply it fragments her personality. I suspect some women may identify with this struggle, even if their personal experience is not so extreme.

Here's a thought...wife goes to couples counseling with husband and undergoes hypnosis. The story is told from either the therapists or the husband's POV. We discover the reaction of the husband and/or therapist as a secret sex life is revealed. This allows the author to give at least two, and possibly different, view points on what the wife is experiencing.

Good idea, there is much in your proposed scenario to work with.

The idea is not that farfetched. While extremely rare multiple personalities generally end up being parts of the person. So a nympho and a straitlaced churchgoer would be rather common when your talking about multiple personality victims.

Two is the most common number of personalities, though more are documented.

Of course there is a problem with doing a story of multiple personalities, the personalities rarely interact, generally don't know of each other on a conscious level and generally only surface in times of stress. So the nympho and straitlaced I mentioned above would be straitlaced until someone starts forcing themselves on her. Though if the personalities resulted from a forced incest as a child the nympho pops up much more often, in fights, talking to the family member who forced and so forth.
