2 people shot, one a kid, one a cop. that's tragic enough and, while we can be relieved there weren't more casualties, one death and one injury that could have been a death instead are no reason for anyone to make light of any of this.

Reason why we need more guns. Big beautiful guns. That Mexico will pay for. Give a gun to every child...just like a laptop. Guns for all.

well, it's true text is 'deaf' but wording generally conjures up a sense (in the reader) of intent; when you choose to post this, it definitely reads as if undermining the seriousness of the event:

i wasn't really taking a pop at you, more a general observation that no-one should be making light of this. you're included under that general umbrella by you wording and i include myself as under that same umbrella because of my own initial reaction. it's unfortunate that in america's gun-violent climate that even i find myself relieved about there being 'only' 2 casualties when it could have numbered so many more. that doesn't make any of it acceptable to the parents of the kids attending that particular school or the friends and families of the injured cop.
