FYI, I've gotten a couple of reports about this thread. I haven't edited or moved it because the guidelines are quite narrow; nothing in the forum rules prevents someone from being a bigot, having bad grammar, or creating a nuisance.

Common sense is supposed to do that. However, common sense isn't, after all, very common.

In any case, while I can sympathize with those who find this conversation offensive, free speech covers everybody--even bigots and other assholes. That's the nature of the thing, for better or worse.

While I don't agree with his sentiments at all, I don't think what he is exhibiting is racism. Muslims are in no way a race. They cover as many, if not more, cultures, races, and ethnicities then Christianity does. There is an explicit insensitivity to their beliefs. The notion, if spelled and worded more tastefully, would be something akin to a Catholic schoolgirl fantasy or nuns or something to that affect. It is religiously motivated by the suppression of man's inherent desire to procreate.

However, based on a news article I read about a Muslim mufti in Australia yesterday, there are some very harsh views towards women not garbed appropriately that run in more extreme sects of the religion. I think his statement was that women who went without the traditional robe and veil were pieces of uncovered meat to attract the animals. What happens next, shouldn't be blamed on the animals. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take that last comment. I feel a little defensive though. I mentioned Literotica as an alternative message board where understanding and broad mindedness prevails. Sosecret.com is a "confession" board that is fairly new. I just happened to find it one day and ended up visiting a couple times more. There are quite a few what I call "dumbasses" over there.I can't stand their ignorancy, lot of which is evident by the fact that these people can't spell or even tell the difference between "their" and "they're", etc. Anyway, as you can see, I am new here and I thought I had found a haven. I hope that can still be the case for me. I do write erotica, although I haven't yet posted any of my stories. Whatever, the thing is, I told a guy calling himself "Married and Gay" about Lit. You can check out our conversation on Sosecret on the thread called Married and Gay. After about the fourth or fifth comment, it's just the original poster and I having a conversation about his predicament. If you continue to check out that board, you'll see why I got the hell out of there and felt blessed to have found you all...Oh yeah, ramonx is probably the guy that started the thread on there called Muslim or Muslim Women-I can't exactly remember because I haven't been back to that board. Another thing: on a personal level, I was very offended by most of the comments left on that board.I don't appreciate being called a nigger and i don't appreciate people making bigoted comments about Muslims or the religion that most don't understand. I understand freedom of speech though and I left the site.

Maybe a good for nothing american 19 year old who spends his time posting on message boards in hacker shorthand. So the kid somehow finds himself in the middle of Indonesia (most muslim country in the world for those who don't know).

So he keeps chasing after the Muslim women looking to get laid, but their over protectve relatives keep chasing after him with knives. Or maybe he keeps getting lucky, but it is kind of a "Let's Make a Deal" scenario. He thinks a chick is hot under all that garb but finds that she's uber-hairy, or has VD, or such. Maybe another woman is really a man in drag. Maybe the first time it really is a hot chick, and that makes him keep at it, even though the others are nightmares for him.

Yes and after he has indiscretly bragged about it, the woman he did seduce is found out by her family. Well, the one thing I was assuming was this discussion was about sex outside of marriage, which is a deadly risk for these women.

As for dates, from everything I have ever heard or read about these societies, there is no such thing (at least as we would regard it). Unmarried women are simply not allowed to be alone with a non-relative male. When in public they are guarded by a male member of the family. I knew a muslim girl who was forbidden from even shaking hands with a man she wasn't married to or related to (and she was a graduate student in the US).

But I am sure that is a more extreme end of the spectrum than where the story would likely need to take place. Perhaps one of the places that allows women a limited degree of freedom but expects the woman to be a technical virgin for her wedding night.

Ah yes, but a date is a relative term. In the basic definition a date is a period of time spent between a man and a woman to see if they are suitable enough together for marriage.
