I’m so glad to hear you’re safe and the recent unpleasantness of your community left you virtually unscathed. I was talking to Purple Haze and he has some excellent suggestions for getting blood out of clothing. And, yes, I think Ollie is an excellent choice to discuss the extraction of bullets and sewing of the wounds. Hey! I know it smarts, but it’s only a shoulder and you got ALL of those new electronic gadgets and things!
I was so glad to hear that the “rash” has cleared up. Messy business, that. And I do agree that an “herbal” approach was the way to go. A prescription might have worked faster in the short term, but then you’d have those doctor’s records and whatnot to deal with. It would seem that there is hope for that “other problem” as well. In the meantime, are you continuing with the baggy britches?
Not much to report here. Same old, same old. I ran out of Moon pies and Clark bars a couple days ago but it only took a minute to siphon some gas from the tractor and fire up the old Nova and tack out for town. Sure enough, I was able to restock, and even better, Lucky Strikes AND RC cola were both on sale! So, with the money I saved, I splurged and bought a new hot water bottle. It’s a good investment. The nights are long ever since Bubba’s lawyer was too incompetent to get him off those silly “Tri-state shooting spree” charges. I still think that shyster was in cahoots with the judge.
OH! The kids found a new pair of shoes hanging up on the power lines the other day. Red high-tops just like I used to wear as a girl. I stuffed the toes with some newspaper strips and they fit Betty Sue almost perfect. We had to fish out the ants and the dead rat, but they smell much better now after being left on the back porch overnight. Amazing what people throw out these days. You should have seen the way Bobby Joe scampered up to get them for her. He’s sweet on her for sure. Well, you know, his mother, Mavis, is a real tramp so I don’t think they’re really FIRST cousins, and puppy love is so sweet to watch. Makes me feel like a girl again. Wasn’t that long ago Bubba was fishing dead animals out of discarded shoes for me…how time flies.
Well, sweetie, I think I’m going to close here and start that new Danielle Steele book you sent me. You can’t tell the books are missing their covers when you stack them right. I’m so grateful to you for sneaking them in with the “package” from Miami (almost the entire stash is sold, BTW, so tell Pedro there’s no call for all those threatening phone calls). I know you said I could do it, but it still makes my head spin to realize I’m actually READING quality literature like Danielle. Those Hooked On Phonics people should get the Nobel Prize or something. I wonder if Springer would like to do a show on people like me who’ve been helped by the program. The producers are still on my speed-dial, but they’ve stopped taking my calls personally. All I get is voicemail. I guess that’s Showfolk.
